Anyone know of somewhere trustworthy in the NW?

My front wheels are showing the usual crinkle after non mag refurbish.

Also any idea of rough cost?

    Thanks!

Just as an update if anyone is reading it seems there are really only 2 places in the UK who can do the refurb and seem to know what they are talking about.
Costs for 4 wheels are around £1000 once you factor in some shipping. Plus will have to pay for tyres to come off and go back on etc on top.

I can see why so many dealers just get a bog standard spray job now.

To be fair there are more than two places in the UK that can refurbish magnesium wheels. However, there might not be many recommendations for the NW although I seem to remember from my investigations a few years ago that there were places in and around Manchester.

I had all four of mine done by Pristine Wheels but they will not warranty the results particularly on very old wheels! I just provided bare rims and the cost was under £500 but that was three or four years ago. One did suffer a bit of cracking of the top finish after a year and had to be redone but, so far since then, they all still look in ‘pristine’ condition.

Pristine wheels do (or certainly did) have Arrangements with companies around the country that will take in the wheels for refurbishment and get them down to and back from their main unit near Milton Keynes and also do an exchange system but this does rely on them having a set of the correct mag wheels to exchange which is unlikely.

Rimpro, Tyngsboro, MA refinished my former 355 Challenge Wheels. Great quality, reasonable price. Not sure if they still do magnesium.

Here. I’ve only used him for powder coating steel components. Local guy to me. Always some interesting stuff in his workshop.

This is pretty specialist stuff, definitely not any shop can do this stuff. so unless you get lucky and live near one of them you will Lille have to send them away.
