    Looking for a little assistance from across the pond.

    Anyone know of a source for racing harness mounting eyebolts that will install into the factory lap belt locations (Eurospec 1985 308QV) M12x1.25 thread. None avail here in the USA. Matt Lewis Racing in the UK appears to have some, but the threading is not specified. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

    I doubt you'll find a specific harness eye bolt "of-the-shelf" in that size, but maybe you could ask Hill Engineering (a site sponsor) if they could make it for you? Could still be simpler/cheaper than welding-in new anchors.

    They appear on ebay quite a lot. Thats where I bought mine for my 83 Mondy which would be the same pitch.

    I can't remember the other size available but its not as widely used.

    I have some still in the packet in the garage, I will go and check if the thread size is on there.

    First of all, thank you for the response, you boys are the best (Pete, no more nitrousferrari ?)

    What the heck is a unf pitch thread (new to me !!!!) my belt mount bolts are a M12 x 1.25 for certain, but the thread pitch also matches my US SAE 20 pitch guage. Perhaps the 7/16UNF is a crossover?

    Pete, if you get a chance check to see if your leftovers are UNF or metric pitch ??

    Great sources though, thanks again.

    Cheers,

    -Luigi

    I always like to post the resolution to a problem, here it is.

    M12x1.25, 7/16 UNF, and SAE 7/16-20 are in fact the SAME THREAD (or so incredibley close that I can only find a difference of a few thousands of an inch in diameter, and thread pitch is identical). The 7/16-20 shoulder eyes or bolts screw in and torque down with no issues (a bit of blue loctite for good measure).

    Cheers,

    Luigi

    for what it is worth...

    UNF = unified fine thread
    UNC = unified course thread

    Just another standard that has been used over the years...

    Just another "bond" between people divided by a common language. :)

    UNF was implimented by allied forces during the war to standardize, solid thinking.....yet makes me crazy !!!

    My 6 points are installed, w 7/16 20 SAE, fit is great...and....Bob's your uncle!!!(am I using that phrase correctly??)

    (the UNF thing still freaks me out a bit, though)
