Hello, Just curious, does anyone know what the MSRP of 1991 - 1993 U.S. Diablos were? In the August '91 issue of Car & Driver magazine they list the Diablo @ $215,000 (including $3,200 gas-guzzler tax and $900 freight) Then in their April '92 issue, Car & Driver list it as; base/as tested $271,918/$272,935 (including the 10% luxury tax) Even factoring the luxury tax, the numbers are still way off. I know the VT had a base sticker of $239,000, but i'm particularly intersted in the rear drive only Diablo's. Thanks in advance. joe
Not entirely sure, but I believe they were listed at $195,000 (before lux tax but including freight and gas guz).
i think it was $239,000 base + $5000 for the optional wing, not sure what the BREGUET clock option was maybe 10K, but there is one on ebay now saying it was a 15K option
So the rear-wheel drive had the same MSRP as the all-wheel drive VT? I'm not disareeing with you, but i only would have assumed the VT would be priced higher than the 2WD car it replaced. joe
For 1991, Base was $239k, the wing was $5k, the clock was $12k, and I think the CD player was almost a grand.
Right on the money. The VT's were about the same price, being that they were all built around the same time anyway.
The $185K was an estimated price, when the car hit the showroom floors it was $239K. Any figures less than that were all estimates from various publications. One Australian magazine had an estimate of 650K AUD.
Oh ok. I just had a memory of the first one I saw and had the sticker price in the car... I guess my memory was off.
+ 1 BUT....clock was 10K BTW, By the time the VT's came around, the wing went up to 10K. Shamile Freeze...Miami Vice !
Actually, I have an interest in clocks and watches, and I am positive the clock was a $12k option. It's a pretty ugly clock too, and does not fit the design of the car at all.
and the fact you sold lamborghini's @ Fox Valley Motor Cars in West Chicago probably gives you some credintals to speak on the topic joe
I agree but look what was around in those days. The Diablo was the car to own back then well I can remember atleast, nothing was better or badder back then kind of like the Veyron or SSC of today.
Are you high. What the ****? Putting the SSC in the same category as the Veyron, or the Diablo for that matter? Unbelievable.
Dear Lamborghinisiti, Ooooops ! I stand corrected. It was $ 12K for that clock ! http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=157539&page=2 Shamile Freeze...Miami Vice !
I have the wing on my Roadster. It's painted carbon fiber. It was a 10K option. I have to have it insured as a special rider/ options-accessories on my insurance. It's insured for the replacement value of .....10K Shamile Freeze....Miami Vice !
