Hi all I’m just finalising my spec for my Lusso T and quite fancy blu America as it’s a rarer colour here in the uk but I also like le man blu...your opinions would be much appreciated. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I think the color of the GTC4 at HR Owen is not Blu America. I have seen Blu America several times on line and it comes across as a dark blue metallic. See here: https://www.prindiville.co.uk/supercars-for-sale/ferrari-ff-full-main-dealer-history-blu-america-rear-entertainment/ I think Blu LeMans is a little bit lighter but very close https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/1998-ferrari-550-maranello-le-mans-blue-crema.560269/ The thing about either of these colors, or really any medium to dark blue- which accounts for many of the blues- they are not going to look very good when dirty. I love blue Ferraris. In general its my favorite color, but this is simply a fact of life with blue. It's very similar to black in this regard. I would note both cars are prior years models, its possible they've changed the colors associated with these names, especially that 550, BUT Between the two, I think I would lean towards Blu America, it just seems a little prettier, perhaps it was designed to address whatever shortcomings present in Blu LeMans? I personally don't love Blu Elettrico on a larger car like this, I think it needs a more curvy and smaller shape. TDF almost always looks good and is a super safe choice for anyone who loves blue. I would also urge you to consider Blu Pozzi or Blu Scozia.
I agree, Blu America is much darker. In fact when looking for my used FF a few years back I saw a Blu America FF and it looked great. This Lusso has a sort of Turquoise colour in it and is not a blue i'm familiar with so i don't think it's TDF, Electrico, Swaters or Pozzi.
The GTC4 in the advertisement almost looks like Blu Corsa. Or maybe Abu Dhabi? Colors can look quite different on different shapes because its all about how they reflect light. I have learned, its not just about which color you prefer in the abstract, but its also about the size and shape of the object to figure out what color will work best for you.
Funnily enough , today the dealer come and took away our Blu America Cali T which we are trading in for a new Lusso T. Blu America is a stunning colour, it goes very well over cuoio I think. I saw an FF in that spec once, it looked awesome. Blu America looks black under low light conditions, but deeper and less grey than real black. In the sun it really pops blue. Go for it ! I think the car in the ad is Abu Dhabi.\ ] Our Lusso will probably be Grigio Ferro. The spec meeting is on Saturday.
Congratulations on speccing your new GTC4! I'd love to see pics of your Blu America Cali T- if available or when the dealer posts the advertisement I would like to see it.
I believe that Le Mans is the lighter of the two blues. Given the cloudiness of northern Europe, it will look more blue on most days than Blu America which will veer towards black in low light. Blu America seems to come close to Pozzi in terms of colour but has a metallic sparkle to it. I guess you could consider it to be a metallic Pozzi. Here's a thread with a load of pictures of a Blu America FF https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/blu-america-for-ferrari-ff.344667/ You can see how it appears almost black in the early photos of the thread (taken on a cloudy day) but brightens up in the sunlight (later photos in the thread).
I forgot to mention that Tim Shmee150's FF was Le Mans Blu as well - so plenty of video on the web of that car in grimy UK weather and sunny southern European weather. Which interior colour are you going for? That might have some bearing on which blue to go for.
Hi all and many thanks for the helpful comments...blu medio interior with Daytona seats and alcantara inserts with Rosso stitching. Still undecided on the blu...blu swaters also looked good on the configuration any thoughts or photos of the colour as I’ve never seen it on a car? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Blu swaters is paler again than the Blu le mans. In my opinion, you would lose the impact of the medio blu leather in the interior - it just ends up being a sea of blue. If you want to stick with the medio blu interior then your first instinct of Blu America or Le Mans is the right one as it provides enough contrast. If you decide that you like the Swaters (and I wouldn't blame you as I think it's lovely) then you need to go for a pale cabin leather - crema with blue stitching would be super.
FF in Blu America FF in Le Mans Image Unavailable, Please Login Poorly lit FF in Swaters Image Unavailable, Please Login Swaters on a TdF in daylight Image Unavailable, Please Login From these photos (and others I've seen) it seems like Swaters has a lot more grey in it than Le Mans. In summary, If you want a proxy black, go for Blu america If you want a rich blue, go for Blu Le Mans If you want a steel blue/grey, go for Swaters Ultimately, you can't go wrong with any of them...
NART Blue is good too. I agree that Blu America ,when not in the sunlight, is a bit of a proxy black, as is Pozzi. Somebody once told me that the best dinner (tuxedo) jackets were a very deep blue, because under low lights they apperared deep black. Actual black, on a car, can seem grey particularly if not cleaned after every trip. Tough choices. 1st World problems, by far the best one’s to have !
Given the overcast nature of most of the UK I figure Le Mans blue is probably better, it'll look "blue" more of the time. I personally like Blu TDF.
If I could afford a new one (and I can't at the moment) I'd go with something a little bit different like this:- Verde Ermes Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login I think this would look great on a Lusso coupled with an "antiqued" type saddle leather.
Really fantastic pics, thank you all- beautiful cars! It seems to me TDF kind of splits the difference very well between many of these choices, and thus, remains popular. In the GTC4 pics thread I think there are several pics of a GTC4 in Blu Scozia. I agree with @ANOpax on the colors. The interior he (or she?) posted is gorgeous. But perhaps a bit too quick to show dirt?
