You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about then! One pair of $350-400 Pradas will look better and last longer and be more comfortable than 5 pairs of Bostonian P'sOS or $100 Nike Air whatevers.....If you go cheap on shoes you're only hurting yourself physically, financially, and fashionably. Jeez, I sound like a shoe advocate! LOL!
I carry a Cartier wallet that cost $395. I have had it in my pocket for almost 5 years and it still looks almost as new as when it actually was. The one I had in my pocket for 5 years before this one is in my drawer and could interchanged at any time, looking just as new. Someone like Pete could throw out 20-25 eel skin or St. Dennis leather wallets in ten years, or carry an ugly tattered rag in his pocket.
AF1's are actually pretty good. Had mine for 6 months and they no stitches are popping out and they're really easy to clean. So basically the consensus from this thread is that you definitely do get quality when buying LV. Good to hear. Should know in a week whether I'll be able to order one.
I can attest to this. I have several pairs of Prada shoes and they fit perfect and wear perfect. Taking mediocre care of them has them looking brand new. I can also say the same for my Gucci loafers, which are in top notch shape considering the beating I have given them.
I still have a little Vuitton key & change holder that I got 15 years ago. It looks great except that the gold on the part where you put keys has rubbed some. Their stuff really does hold up well.
I couldn't find an LV wallet I liked and came across a Gucci one about a year ago. It was only (comparatively) $120. It is a lot smaller than many would probably like, but I do not like carrying a lot of cash and I only have a couple cards to carry and it perfectly. It has held up great, I have been using it about a year, the only thing I worry about is getting it wet since its not all leather, about half of it is the Gucci canvas.
1) I have never seen anything from Prada for men that I've liked. Nothing. 2) I had an ex that was into Prada and her $800 purse fell apart in 6 months. Separately her little Prada change purse would pop open if you put more than a dollar's worth of change in it. I remember being significantly appalled at Prada quality. When my wife and I were dating, I bought her her current LV bag. She has used it almost-daily to this day (we just had our 6 year marriage anniversary). She doesn't baby it at all (much to my dislike I might add) - yet there isn't a stich out of place. Bill
They were probably fake... or did you see her walk into a Prada store and buy them? If she did, then they'd replace them as what you're describing is not common at all for real Prada merchandise. * I was just using Prada as an example. I love their shoes but wouldn't wear their clothing and haven't worn their glasses.
Mine. Prada wallet and Prada phone. It is a Money Clip + Card Wallet and has served me well for 3 years! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Agree, my Ferragamo and Bally's shoes have lasted me for years. A good buffing makes them look brand new...although, it's almost time to replace them...almost...
qft those are the only online retailers for lv neimanmarcus.com bergdorfgoodman.com saksfifthavenue.com have wallets by other designers
Its ironic that someone started this thread recently. My brother is getting married next week and I am the best man. So when he arrived for his bachelor party yesterday, he gave me my best mans gift; an LV wallet. And I gotta say I love it. Thank goodness its not the loud LV one. This is classy with a simple pattern that not many people would readily recognize. It has enough pockets to be functional. My only complaint is that those pockets are a little tight since it is new. I cant wait for it to loosen up. But overall it feels super sturdy. It should endure nicely. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
^^Nice! I have the same type except its the traditional brown and gold monogram LV. Still using it now for 17 yrs. The center fold part of it has some wear and its taken shape to my front pants pocket and leg. However, the ex bought over a dozen LV handbags and goodies! Thats where we should start with, grrrr. My wallet only a couple hundred, the ex- LV splurge, well it was good while it lasted, lol!
I have an all balck one. No logos. Love it. I've had it for years. Still looks newish. When it finally wears out, I'll go buy another one.
I've purchased mine from the Louis store, just because I wanted to see them in person each time. Definitely a good wallet, I love the ones I've had. -AS
