Have to disagree with you, especially about the interior. And if the germans love this stuff, why are they selling?
Re: the Turbo Lag, anyone on here have a 100bhp Koenig or Norwood to compare it with? I think its based on the Koenig system. http://www.lotec-gmbh.de/english/tt1000.htm 3 were made, 2 with the 1000bhp an done with 780bhp I think. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCY57zf2YUo[/ame] and hereis a Koenig 1000bhp Competition EVO to give it some sound --- VERY loud.. seems to be hard work to start! I don't have a problem with the dash, but too much red for me (eye strain). I can never understand why people try to mimic another design (F40) when modifying a body. I would go for something a little more unique. I rode in a Norwood twin turbo TR and can testify that it is fast, but you really need to watch how you deliver the power so that you keep everything in one piece. That in itself diminishes the fun. John
Yeah the colour is a matter of taste, but I think over all its a more exciting design. Like the digital dash, cutting edge LCD for the late 80's! I have found this Koenig picture, as I suspected its the same design, Suspect Koenig built most of this, perhaps apart from the F40 body Image Unavailable, Please Login
The price went down quite a lot... I guess finding a buyer for this creation is hard. I would always go for a Koenig Competition Evolution IF I were to buy a TR turbo. http://suchen.mobile.de/fahrzeuge/showDetails.html?lang=de&id=150027420&pageNumber=3&__lp=3&scopeId=C&sortOption.sortBy=price.consumerGrossEuro&makeModelVariant1.makeId=8600&makeModelVariant1.modelId=36&makeModelVariant1.searchInFreetext=false&makeModelVariant2.searchInFreetext=false&makeModelVariant3.searchInFreetext=false&negativeFeatures=EXPORT&tabNumber=1 Natan Tazelaar
Hummm...the TR looks quite different with the wing and without the cheese graters on the door. I kind of like it. The interior would take some getting used to though...
Although the original Testarossa is my favorite, I would go for the Koenig Competition with 800 bhp (the pre Evo) if I had to go for a tuner TR... A C62 wouldn't hurt either, but then the original 962 would be my favorite of course. So not the Dauer Two questions have been on my mind for decades when it comes to those cars... Does the Competition Evo really have 1,000 PS? Does anybody have dyno data? And how many C62's did Koenig make and how many are still out there? Natan Tazelaar
I think some of the old sales brochures (I have one somewhere, there are scans on the web) has a dyno on them I love the Dauer 962 As far as I know the C62 was a one off. not 100% on that though
I know it doesn't mean a lot, but I have seen pictures of at least one yellow and one red example. I have sales brochures as well, from two separate model years. Next to that I have quite a few test reports from German car magazines. None of them with an actual dyno test though. Is there any info on where these cars are? I saw one for sale last year in Italy but that's about it. Natan
This does not look like a Koenig design to me. Vittorio Strosek designed the body kits for Koenig (and others as well as for his own tuning company) and there are many differences on this car compared to Strosek's designs. Lotec is a different company from Koenig . It does have a Koenig interior though but it was possible (and still is, if you want to pay!) to buy separate tuning items from Koenig. So why not an interior. For example one could buy the body kit but keep the engine stock. Or vice versa.
Re: the diff colours.. be careful as I know there was a half scale model produced, very realistic, its even featured in some magazines and brochures as a styling exercise. And also bear in mind when the Shelby Cobra was first shown they painted it a diff colour each week to make it look like there was more than one car!! There is one for sale in the UK at the moment. Its been with lots of dealers over teh years so hard to sell. Its with Specialist Cars of Malton at the moment, a VERY well respected Porsche dealer in the UK
Believe it or not, a friend of mine has direct access to the owner in Germany. I would be curious to hear what you feel this car would have to be priced at, for it to sell. It has 12,000 KM. Apparently runs fine and is in pretty good cosmetic condition. (Oh, I'm not bringing up that it is not a US spec car. Just look at this as if it were, for the sake of discussion.) I would appreciate some feedback. Thanks,
Believe me, I understand. But I would still like some feedback. If the car was sitting in the States, US legal, at what price would someone be tempted to buy this sucker?
Ok, here is the feedback. In this snack bracket these buyers what something unique, yet desirable. Also, the choice of car brands today in that budget opens one up to great history cars, plus sellable cars when necessary to move onto something else. This car in question hits not one of those points, therefore, it will be looked upon as a very unique buyer. Therefore, the pool of buyers / enthusiasts is drastically reduced. Ask yourself the question. If you had this kind of money 5 times over to buy 5 cars in this price range, would this car be on that list of 5 to buy? For very many ....No.
