Well, my stupidity did it again :D

Bought a car sight unseen with no PPI.

I just won the auction on the Straman 400i convertible. I always like the look of those and I need a convertible for summer. I sold my 500SL last fall so this one will do the job for next summer.

And HEY! It's an old configuration of front V12 rear wheel drive Ferrari. COOL!!

ULM210 was also very interrested in the car by what I read here SO......

I give him the chance to go look at the car and decide if he wants it or not before the shipping company is ready to pick it up for me.

Congrats Claude and welcome to the 3X8 + 365/400/412 club!

    For me, a 308 + 412 has been a perfect mix of Ferraris. :)

    Cheers!

I've done it a few other times too. Some were ok some were bad. I have a good feeling for this one.

    Thanks for your support.

Perhaps for the glove box. Mine was missing but it looks like the same type of bulb as in my 308's handbrake, so I got an extra white LED from Martin for the 412.

I just got the car out of storage last night and I plan to try out Martin's bulb later today... Will report back.

Confirmed glove box fitment! If anyone needs replacement bulb for it, Martin has made a batch of LED bulbs for 3X8s - the white color is perfect for the interior of our glovebox, perhaps other areas too, but I've not explored.

    Cheers!

A working electrical fixture on a 400? Obviously you think we're very gullible. :D

LOL... Well, my horn stopped working shortly after the new bulb, but I don't think it had anything to do with it! :)

I'll chase it down later as I'm very finicky about everything having to be in good working order with all of our cars... It's a sickness really!

    Cheers!

    Ruben,
glad to hear about it. When you wished a white one, I have chosen 'warm-white' LEDs, instead of cool white ones, since those are somehow blueish and I decided, that 'warm-white' fits better vor vintage cars.
    I'm glad you like it.

    Best Regards
    Martin

Great choice Martin, I was hoping for a warm white as opposed to a blueish white. The light from the warm white is a perfect replica of the light from an original bulb!

    Thanks again!!
