Kraig That is a very reasonable price, you'll have no problem selling. But, why are you selling? Didn't you bond with the car on your road trip? Aidan
Yeah, the road trip was great! No time for pics, I was moving too fast. But now that I've done that, I feel that there's nothing else to do with the car. It's not a canyon carver, and I've done the long trip thingy already. Time for someone else to have their fun with it.
Kraig, I can see your thinking, have you decided on what you will buy next, another Ferrari? Look for a PM, from me later tonight. Ciao...Paolo
Paolo: There are a few cars I'm looking at. I may buy one or more of them: A 67 Lancia Fulvia, or perhaps a 64 Fiat 1600 OSCA, or maybe another 66 Honda S600. I just want something smaller, with a stick shift!
No one interested? Will I wind up getting only $20k, like Bergxu? Now I need the garage space, since I just bought 2 more cars
Kraig You may have priced it too low so that people are suspicious - why not try asking for $29k? What are the other two cars you bought? Cheers Aidan
would love toown another, but last month was a budget buster. subprime problem is arriving at my doorstep.
Aidan: Bought a 67 Lancia Fulvia Rallye, and a 64 Fiat Spider 1600 OSCA. Just waiting for them to arrive!
Here, just put the 400 on ebay today: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=020&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&viewitem=&item=300142798681&rd=1
HAhahaha...I know, I know. There is a black interior 5-speed for sale in Ft Lauderdale for $24-25k. Motorcar Gallery has it. However, the carpet and headliner are this crazy berber tan stuff....and the car wasn't quite in as good of condition as I'd hoped. And the white isn't a good white, but a cream white. Not my favorite. Still, it is a black interiored 5-speed!
These cars in great condition don't show up on the market. Grab that car and redo it to the way you want it. It's only money...
True...it has been for sale for well over a year now. I saw it when I went to Microsoft TechEd Orlando in 2006! Had new exhausts on it too....sounded pretty amazing.
Bad ebay. They pulled my auction simply because my 1981 vehicle doesn't have a 17 digit VIN! Didn't the 17 digit VINs come out on the Series II cars? Here's the relisted car, I had to list it as a 1980: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=300144300637&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT&ih=020
That's really silly. Wonder why Ebay does that? I never knew they pulled auctions for VIN stuff like that.
Beautiful car. If by some stroke of misfortune (for you), or good luck (for me), and the car is available next Feb/March, I'm definitely interested. Wife's pending bone marrow transplant has all my car buying plans on hold.
Yes. I think Ebay is in co-hoots with Carfax, went on their site to check history of my 280Z that they had on file and got a 'no process' report from them cause of the 17 digit vin # reason, and Z's are certainly not a grey mkt. car. By the looks of Dave's database, Ferrari made the change to 17 digits in 1982----coincidentally, Carfax says they can't go back further then this---it has to have 17 digits to run the check. Heads up to you if someone wants to carfax your vehicle before sale, and it's not because it's a grey mkt. car. Grey mkt., low production #'s, not officially imported to the states when its primary mkt. was the US(producing auto trans versions which at the time was considered to be the antithesis of all things the Maranello manufacturer stood for---of which still is happening to this day) all contribute to its real value in automotive history; but hey, those of us who appreciate them are certainly amongst the minority out there. Good luck with your Ebay experience, it appears your first hit prior to ebay was a Wal-mart shopper!
Oh boy, if only those @#$#@!@ taxes here would not add another 10K to the cost..... Good luck in selling!! And enjoy your new toys. Hans (in Europe)
