LOL!! What I meant was that I was not going to give up my normal job to do the deliveries...I think it would have been pretty hilarious though.
WOW!! Where did you read about this?? I would love to know more about that car. I wonder why someone would go through all the trouble of digging a hole for that car instead of just parting it out or leaving it somewhere. Seems like an awfully extreme length to go to....unless they were coming back later for it.
I did a Google search...is this what you speak of?? AUTOWEEK MAGAZINE, USA, MARCH 3,1986 "DEEP SIX DINO", BY GREG SHARP STORY OF 246GTS, No.07862, WHICH WAS STOLEN AND BURIED FOR 4 YEARS.
You probably know about it but check out www.tomyang.net. Great site goes into detail of his restoration.
Theres a sad looking Mondial near me; I pass it every day on the way to work. It's sitting in a driveway of what looks like some sort of sign business. I'm not sure if it's for sale, but it's been sitting there for many months now. It hasn't been moved at all. It's paint is extremely faded, and it looks like it's been sitting there for a few years. I could take a low res picture of it sometime this week if you want.
Yes, please do. If you could let me know when you have the pictures I will give you my email address. I appreciate that, thank you.
Damn, I missed this thread the first time around and now the pics are gone.. does anyone have the ones of the GTO in the field handy? -Chris
Here's an amusing pic of a "beat down" Ferrari that I found recently. Image Unavailable, Please Login

info regarding the victoria 250, talked about in the begining of this thread the mechanic at my grandfathers ranch actually went to high school in victoria when the conners gave the ferraris and several engines to the school... if you didint know the conners were oil money, and were very scared/physco of kidnappings and what not, so the tom conner guy was very protective and the family was rarely seen, anyways he had his entire racing outfit on the ranch and even had his own racetrack, the mechanic also told me that he would do some odd jobs on the ranch and was into cars, he had some chevy or something and was working by the track, then one day the conner guy came up and took his car on the tracck, ran it hard for about 30 min, came back gave him some stock numbers, and told him to talk to so-and-so at the dealership, turns out the conner guy gave him several thousand$$ in parts for his engine... pretty cool story i thought... also he said when conner decided to quit racing(dont know why), he built a john deere tactor facility, gave it to his race team, and then gave to GTO, and several crated engines to work on... i am also positive on the crated engines, and he said some of them were flat V-12s?? any idea on what these may be? i dont think the GTO had a flat V12
Ican see where a high school shop teacher in Victoria might be able to teach the kids something about body and chassis repair, butthe real question is, did the shop teacher know anything about working on Italian V12's?
Yeah they probably just ended up puttung a big ol' 350 in it, a slap stick shift and mickey's in the rear. Let's not forget the lightening bars. Chop the roof for a joke *sigh* Poor GTO...
The color version of that is in all the older ferraris. It is advertising Mike Sheehans ferrari business (the name escapes me)
