and the 400' Ferrari series. TR8? I got all those and TR7.
And actually, another one I'm missing is a De Tomaso Mangusta. I know someone who has one, but his has the fixed headlights. Chris
Are you just after specific cars or any with pop-up headlights? You could try to find a Lotus Elan, BMW 8-series, Lamborghini Miura, Masda MX-5 (Miata in the States), Porsche 911 slantnose, Potsche 914, Porsche 924, Porsche 928, Porsche 944, Fiat/Bertone X1/9, Honda NSX, or Jaguar XJ-220. I'm sure I've seen most of these on the forum... use the member advanced search function for "other cars owned" to try to track them down? All the best, Andrew.
Got all those already. I'm trying to round up all the cars I can, and there's only a few left that I don't have. Chris
I can't release those yet, I need to knock out the cars I don't have yet and it will be an epic video! Chris
Thanks, Sam! I appreciate it buddy. I actually could use another Jaguar XJ220, the one I have was in a museum and one of the headlights was stuck open. It would be awesome to get them opening in motion (both of them), but it'll be hard to find for sure. Chris
I've read the first was a 1936 Cord and the last were the 2005 Corvette and Lotus Esprit Image Unavailable, Please Login
There's a Mangusta here in town. Another customer has several Callaway Vettes, I will ask if there's a C4
Very cool, thanks Brian! Would love to get the Callaway. I just knocked a Bricklin off my list today. Chris
I have a 87 Callaway C4, that Brian S has worked on . What do you need? Just a video of the headlights coming up?
Yep! I usually set up a tripod so there is no shakiness, and get a video of the headlights popping up from a few different angles. Chris
I was able to knock the Maserati Khamsin off my list in Monterey, and it looks like I have a lead for a Lamborghni Urraco. Getting close! Chris
Just knocked the Lamborghini Urraco off my list, and getting close! Here is what is left: Aston Martin Lagonda Lancia Stratos C4 Callaway Corvette AMX/3 Cizeta V16T De Tomaso Guara Lotus Elite/Eclat/Excel McLaren M6GT Toyota 2000GT Saab Sonnett III Chris
That McLaren will be very tough. The road going prototype (the only one with pop-up headlights) was registered to Bruce McLaren with the licence plate OBH500H. I think all the other versions of the M6A/M6B/M6GT either didn't have any headlights at all or were conventional ones under plexiglass. Any idea who owns Bruce's old car now? All the best, Andrew.
The McLaren is probably the toughest one, for sure. I'm not expecting to get them all, but it never hurts to ask! I actually have three Jalpas lined up, all popping their headlights at the same time! Chris
Oooh that would be awesome!! I would LOVE to have that one in the video if the owner is available. Chris
there was a lagonda at steve's european auto on friday. it could still be there. somebody posted a pic of it on the woodward page.
