I'm looking for a membership at this club in southern California. Does anybody know what the fees are, both in terms of upfront fees and monthlies? Are there minimum food fees? Does anybody know what the membership process is like? I'm pretty young -- only 34 -- but interested? Anybody know of a member there who wants to sell his / her equity stake?

    Thanks for all the help.

    Mark.

Why wouldn't you just call the club and ask how their membership process works?

Well, I've obviously thought of that. Just wanted some inside info on it, above and beyond what the club may or may not tell me.

What would the club not tell you?

They are the ones who control the membership policy. You'll probably have to get current members to sponsor you, so if you don't know any you're likely dead in the water before you begin.

If they are full, the members that leave will likely have to sell their membership back to the club and the club will re-sell to people waiting (and approved). Or, it might not be an equity club at all. It might be that you have to pay an initiation fee to get in which is gone when you pay it.

But again, the club can tell you all of this in one 5-minute phone call. I even got the number for you: 310-451-8011

EDIT: I'm not trying to be ******, I just don't understand why you wouldn't call the club first and then ask members questions for things you still wonder about. Asking them to fill you in without bothering to call the club first is akin to you telling them your time is more important than theirs. Hell, you're a lawyer who can afford to join this club - have your assistant call for you.

If you send them an email, they should be more than happy to answer questions.

If you find Brentwood's membership fees to be "extraordinary" - look into the other [Los Angeles] California Clubs which [like Lubbock, Texas] have reciprocal memberships, but are cheaper...
