What did you go for, if I may ask?

If the car has sat for a long time with the battery isolated, worth checking that the electronic dashboard cycles correctly. There appears to be a small rechargeable battery on the dash circuit board which causes issues when flat. Quite an expensive ($15k) repair IIRC.

My friend who posts on here occasionally, purchased an low mile F50 and it required a full recommissioning service well north of £31,000 around 7-8 years ago which would be maybe 50% more today. On the replacement/work list:
    - compression test on engine (before car purchase completed)
    - filters/fluids
    - Fuel tanks
    - all brake lines
    - all fuel lines
    - tyres
    - suspension bushings
    - throttle linkage/throttle switch mechanism and cable
    - gearbox bushings
    - battery
    - fitment of full sports exhaust

I missing a lot off as I can't remember it all, but if the car is sat, then it needs a lot of work to be something which you would want to drive fast!

Was this the one that was owned by an FChatter (who also had an F40) in Newport? Or am I thinking of a different car?

One of the RHD F50s has found its way to Hong Kong.

Photo also offers proof that the F50 is quiet and comfortable inside with the roof on. ;)

This F50 was owned by Dick Marconi, who also owned two (2) F50s and an F40, all Eu/ROW-spec cars.

Correct, you are likely thinking of a gentleman who owned an F40 (which I sold to another FChatter who still has it) and an F50, and replaced those cars with a black Enzo.

...that I found, I sourced, I flew out and inspected, and I recommended after my inspection; the payment for which was generous, but the real gift was that he put a sticker over the VIN that had my name on it. And so every time someone saw it, and they went to photograph the VIN for me, they saw that sticker that said CARBON, and they flipped out; they didn't know I already had the VIN since I had gone to Chicago to inspect it. It was a lot of fun.

F40-R, do you have any updates that you can share in this thread? Did you go through with the purchase? If so, I imagine things are sorted by now and you've been able to drive the car; how is it? If not, can you tell us why you ultimately decided to pass on this acquisition?

I highly doubt Marconi put many miles on the car in those 17 years. Coming from the Sultan's collection, I highly doubt miles were put on during that stay also. So miles (or Km I should say) would probably be accurate.
