Can anyone tell me the location of the indicator relay in a 400i?

    Thanks in advance.

Aidan maybe I don't understand the question.
Just look at the manual I gave you. There is a fold out sheet that shows the location.

If your talking about the directional flasher, its behind the speedometer. Remove the upper left thumb screw to remove the speedo and the flasher is bolted to the bulkhead behind. If your are wanting to replace it so that your flashers work at a normal rate, use an electronic version as they are not dependent on the load.

Thanks for your replies. I did mean the flasher unit - I couldn't tell where it was from the wiring diagram. I have tried removing the speedo but it seems to be stuck. The flashers aren't working, which is why I'm trying to get at the flasher unit.

I'm not exactly sure about an 80', but if you remove the upper left thumbscrew and wiggle the speedo, it should fall out.

I've tried wiggling it but it won't come out - will try again, but I'm worried about breaking something! The rev counter came out quite easily (I was just testing it to see how easy it might be to remove).

Haven't had a chance to fiddle again - we have a 3-week-old daughter. Will keep you posted.

Thanks Dave - if I remember correctly we were discussing my other new baby, the 400, when we met! What a year - my first Ferrari and my second daughter.

Well, if your daughter is anything like mine (now 2 1/2), you will be driving your Ferrari regularly. I'm probably the only one in the group that has a car seat strapped in the back, and she just LOVES the "horsey car!" Congrats!

My first daughter is also 2 1/2, and she loves the 400 - she can even say "Ferrari 400" - I sometimes ferry her to and from daycare in it.

OK, you win! :) My daugher has "horsy car" down pat, and is stumbling through "ferrari." Not to be confused with "cow car." (ie, Lambo) I haven't tried to conquer the models yet.

I eventually managed to get the speedo out by removing the tacho and then undoing the speedo drive cable from the speedo. However, I was still unable to locate the flasher unit, but I must have done something right as the indicators are now working again!

    Thanks for your advice.
