Has anyone else used Litespeed Racing before for custom wheels? I'm extremely disappointed. I am often waiting days or weeks for a response. Which, if they're busy, I get it...but that's not great customer service. But they got the clearance measurements wrong on my magnesium wheels, TWICE, and now I have damage to my calipers and wheels I can't use along with titanium bolts i had to buy specifically for these wheels (different size than stock). I've notified Patrick at Litespeed about this, but if they got it wrong twice, I don't see what they can do. And I'm guessing I won't get a response, if any for many days. I'm so frustrated and upset about this! I was so excited about these wheels...what a disappointment! It's worse because I love how the wheels look and they saved me 11 lbs per wheel.

    That's too bad!

Did they send you a template so you could measure your calipers before ordering the wheels? In my experience that's standard practice.

They didn't ask so I didn't send them anything

When I worked with another custom wheel company, they had a cardboard template. You literally hold the template flush with the face of your brake rotor, and then trim it with scissors so it exactly matches the profile of your hub and caliper. This gives the wheel manufacturer concrete data points to build the wheel around.

It's a low-tech solution but would have presumably avoided this issue.

That seems like a very effective solution. Unfortunately, that wasn't done here

Dave, did this get resolved? I am having a similarly bad experience with Litespeed (except my wheel actually failed so am trying to resolve it). I have a Porsche so am normally over on Rennlist, but I found this thread in a Google search and am curious to compare notes. PM me if you’d like to discuss (it doesn’t seem I can PM you, maybe because I just signed up). Thanks.

Failed how? I have had issues with the powder coat peeling off on the magnesium wheels after only a couple warm up laps on track.

Update: Patrick sent out 2 sets of wheels to fix the problem. The first set that were machined down further to create enough space, and an 2nd set that were made to the right size from the start. Although this was a very frustrating experience while going through it, Patrick never avoided responsibility for it and for that I'm very grateful and happy about it. Im glad it didn't turn into an ugly fight. Final wheels fit perfectly and Patrick even sent out new boxes for me to return the wheels.
