License plate lights and 3rd brake light corrosion

    • Third brake light on the rear deck lid light bar has brackets that corrode due to water exposure. I ordered new ones along with the captive nut from Ricambi. New ones are are zinc coated but I shot them with black paint before reinstalling. May want to check yours as rust has a way of spreading.
    • License plate lights have the same issue, they look like they came out of floorboards of a rusty 1975 Lincoln. I ordered new ones that are all plastic from 360 and newer cars, there was some scuttlebutt that they would not work since they were not metal. I have actually seen it written on sites that states it will not work. As you can see they work just fine. No more metal, better light bulb, whats not to like, cheap too.

    There is some dialog out there that the plastic ones do not work due to lack of metal and grounding, it is simply not so. They work great.

    Just ordered the alternatives from eurospares. I’m not paying £40 plus for the plastic ones!!

    I’ll take some pics when they turn up.

    Picture of patten ones from eurospares and rusted out old one.

    (Probably available in Kmart for £2.00! They are also different bulbs and connectors needed replacing!)
