This is a DISCUSSION forum. He's as entitled to post questions or advice about your posts as you are about why other posters should see Hamilton in the same light as you do, so long as you both keep it civil.

 

As his advice was for me to go to chat on a Mercedeschat forum I did not think that advice was helpful in discussing on this forum, hence I said I did not want said advise.

Obviously I was wrong.

 

I think it's quite possible to be fans of other marques and drivers and also be fans of Ferrari.....the discussions of F1 here (note it's not Ferrari F1) would be pretty boring of we couldn't discuss Checo, Max or anyone else. Telling someone to slog off to the Mercedes forum because they praise Hamilton (or anyone else) is just plain rude (beyond being dictatorial and myopic).

I would hope the mods would recognize that. Telling someone to bugger off isn't advice.

 

Indeed. William was treated equally rude on his return as some suggested he'd be better off on MercChat.

I love this forum for exactly it not being exclusive to Ferrari. And I also agree with cairns that one can love and support the red team while still be fan of or appreciate the efforts/talents of other drivers. If this was Ferrari only content, I'd be looking elsewhere.

 

The sequence started because kraftwerk declared it would be nice to have a thread without Hamilton vitriol, to which kes7u pointed out that a Merc site might give him what he wanted, to which kraftwerk replied to keep his advice to himself. Both user's posts relate to critiques of opposing posters for posting their respective positions. Neither side has any more rights or privileges to tell the other side when or what to post. kraftwerk is no more entitled to a Hamilton love fest than kes7u is entitled to an only pro-Ferrari F1 forum.

 

Except we allow one side to tell the other side to bugger off. Quit rudely. There should be ONE set of rules. Anyone should be allowed to express their opinion without being rude or telling someone who disagrees with them to bugger off.

It isn't that hard. As I said before telling someone (and allow me to put it as it was obviously intended) to F-off is NOT an opinion. The mods should know that telling someone that they're not welcome or should bugger off to a Mercedes chatsite isn't at all conducive to making this a better website or a healthier discussion.

Get real for crying out loud. Quite frankly ylshih as a moderator I think you made a mistake- and a fairly big one- do you want anyone who disagrees with someone else here to rudely tell them to go another website? Do you think that kind of moderation encourages sponsors?

The nature of Lewis related arguments on this forum is quite simple: One side insists on telling us he's the GOAT, the other side doesn't recognize that. The GOAT side then claims the ''non believers'' are racists, haters or any other colourful name, and are now crying to the mods.

All this on a Ferrari forum.
