6 years and still love this car. Nice autumn drive through the local National Park today Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi, we had our first event in a long time, a bit cold weather but not too bad. Nice roads, nice places, nice people, and another 456 in addition to ours, oldest car was a 512TR and newest were an 812 GTS and a Roma. Very nice in white, has some design clues from the E-type IMO, but I am biased. ;-) Cheers! Hi Richel! I have always wondered what it’s like to drive around in a 550 in Miami. How cool would it be to ship mine over?! It has spent the last two winters++ in South of France. I plan to take my Jag down here soon, and might move the Maranello back to Norway because I will be home some time now. But then when the winter comes, I can’t drive the 550 in our useless climate in Norway. So it could get a trip overseas... Have anyone done that before? Then we could catch up. Make a Maranello only Cannonball race. Miami - New York!!
Have been there a number of times. Sitting at Sloppy Joes restaurant and looking at powerboats with thousands of horsepower is just great. I like to go there when it is the Worlds races in November. Here is our Norwegian build Predator 447 boat that we display at the Miami Boat Show. Equipped with two Mercury Racing QC4v. 1.350 hp. engines! And «lunch» at Gilberts at the upper keys while under the poker run to Islamorada. Lots of fun! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Erik- You have seen more of Florida than I have. The USAF sent me mostly to the Redneck Riviera near Ft Walton Beach and Eglin AFB.
Hahaha, I was thinking it would be best to ship my 550 over to the South of France! So I'll say this about driving in Miami, it's as beautiful a place as any to drive along the beaches and bridges as any other place you can think of. But I mean this in a sense of just cruising at 40mph with your elbow hanging out of the window. Like you said cruising in the XK convertible is excellent. However in terms of having fun spirited driving for something like our Maranello's I think it's pretty non-existent. Sure there are plenty of big long highways to open it up but going in a straight line isn't the same for me. And that's not just Miami but all of Florida. Even though the Maranello is technically a GT car I don't feel it was quite meant for that. I've driven round trip from Miami to NY three times but that was in my 20's so all in cheap standard rentals. Getting through Florida is pretty brutal, however once you get into Georgia and start heading north it's a fantastic drive! I fully intend on taking the 550 to multiple track events and shipping it to other areas like NC to spend a couple of weeks at an airbnb in the mountains. Honestly as much as I love the 550 (It was literally a poster car for me), if I weren't into tracking or wanting to go on spirited drives as much as I am, I would've probably bought something else like a Vanquish or AMG GT for living in Miami. I'm too anxious of a person to have unused cars, lol. Funny enough we just tried going to Gilbert's this past weekend, there was a 1.5hr wait just to get into the parking lot! lol. Needless to say we had to go elsewhere. Regardless if/when you decide to head on over I would be happy to host, it would be a great trip!

Hi Daniel. I can pay for your detailing and coating, and you give me your 6-1 headers..? Enzo and I are driving the pickup from Villefranche to Stockholm starting wednesday. Looking forward to do some good roads in Austria or Switzerland...
Hi Erik It's a good friend of me doing the ceramic coating for me. Next is the 599. The Panda and the Ghibli will get a Nano coating. I case you will come near me, come for a short visit to me. The 599 has the 6-1 too. Daniel
Finished the ceramic coat yesterday. Saturday I will get the 550. Daniel Image Unavailable, Please Login
