The Karmann's got more than half the horsepower and less than half the weight of the 348. Just like their respective owners. We are due a showdown at Santa Pod this year but I am not putting the 'pink slip' up as a bet on who wins.
Hi to Kenyon and Tomkranz! Any chance of your posting some manufacturer details on your wheels? They look pretty neat! Have the spokes on the Mondial wheels got 'flutes' along them? Cheers
This is one of the best threads I've seen. Here's a picture of each of my rides over the past fifteen months. I think I've settled now on the one I love. Nope I to have a QV. Yours looks cool. What are the wheels off? Mine too. Though my garage is somewhat more cramped than yours, hence no room for me to take any pictures in there
I got the wheels from the guy who had the Mondial/355/mongrel thing up on Ebay recently. They came from http://www.wheelmania.co.uk/ - they are the Mania RVR II. The guys there will know the correct wheel offsets for a Mondial, and can supply the proper bolts as well. They have some good close up pictures on their site. Mine are 17", but looking at the wheel arch I suspect 18" or even 19" would fit cleanly. I know 18" 360 wheels drop on to a Mondial without any modifications. I like the look a lot - the Mondial is a nice shape, and the wheels complement it. Plus I'm spared the pain and outrageous expense of hunting down TRX tyres Cheers, TOM
Cheers Tom, I am toying with the idea of different wheels, and you obviously have to be careful. However yours looks good and I have inquired about TRX tyres and they are about £240 each, not sure how it compares with other performance tyres but there is only one place that does them www.longstonetyres.co.uk.
Love that F355 spider in blue - stunning! You have to "attach" the image for them to display I think...
OK... attached them, cheers mate Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Pleasure! You're a braver man than me taking a 200BHP rear wheel drive car out in the snow with fence posts on either side. Wide open empty car park could be a giggle though
Aaah, it was alright. Cheap to fix too if something goes wrong ! Just seen your Elvington pics. Lets just say yor car has a fair bit more 'composure' around there than mine... pics here http://193.195.58.24/500e/trackimages.asp ;-)
Just watched your elvington clip - amazing! I still remember the layout.. I was sliding it around at the top sweeping hairpin but the camera man did'nt go up there. Decided to take it easy after that since the tyres were almost done. Had them through to the carcass by 3 so lost the last hour - D'oh! Were you there when the lads with the old escort/chevete turned up with a big stack of old tyres - looked hilarious following them round sliding around the track. Just had to keep a foot hovering ready on the brakes since they kept spinning off! Got the CS booked for 1st May for Part 2 You going there again?
Even though i'm in toronto.. i thought i'd grace you guys with my ride... aint it a beauty? *** hahahaha*** Image Unavailable, Please Login

How are you resizing them? There's a plugin for Windows XP (if you use it) that resizes pictures quite well. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx You want the Image Resizer on there.
