Pay $10k for the seats. Have them reproduced. Sell real ones for $10k. Sell replica ones for whatever they cost. Break even. Make money. Be happy.

I think there are a large number of better aftermarket seats that could be bought, upholstered to taste and installed for less than we're talking here...not sure what the point would be unless there's something special about the Ferrari seats other than the horsey on them (which repro seats wouldn't have anyway).

    Agreed.

$5k will buy some really nice carbon fiber backed seats made of higher quality than the original 355 ones. They won't be OEM though which is a deal breaker for some folks.

My problem is all those seats look so out of place.

Sparco r100 look good, recaro speed or sporster, corbeau sportline evo X, etc. would look at home in a 355. Plenty of options out there.

Status spa look almost identical save higher thigh bolsters and for $1200 a seat. You could get them reupholstered and still be at $2k per...

I've got my eye on omp ars-r Carbon as they are almost identical to the challenge seats.

If it could be done for $2k per seat I could see doing it, but I don't see it being possible. Maybe if outsourced to China?

    Your 100% correct

So many options that are better. Even of we re-pop these they are still NOT ORIGINAL

I'm out I have challenge and SS CF seats thats enough for me. Next set will be aftermarket with a nice leather upgrade.

    Hell, I offered $6k
He won't budge under $8500. At $8500 he can keep it. I know for a fact he bought the seats for $3500.

Even $6k is rich. Might be worth it to some, but not to me. I'd rather put the cash towards next major and an engine compartment refurb once the engine is out.

10k is absurd. Many aftermarket options out there...heck there were some f40 seats for less then that out of Germany not too long ago. I for one could care less if they were OEM or not as long as they look good and feel good. 10k...me bollocks!

Funnily enough, I had a set of those in my 355. Had the leather recoloured to match the Ferrari tan with carbon backs. Made myself some adaptor plates to fit them to the factory runners and everything.

Then had to take them out and put the factory seats back in as they were too snug for me after my hip replacement.

Still got them sitting in the garden shed somewhere....can't really decide what to do with them.

They do look the business though.

2 questions. Are left and right shells the same? And do you think the slider hardware is the same as the ones for the regular seat?

I'm not 100% sure but i think the shells are different side to side because of the side wheel to fold the seat's forward. Both my GTS and GTB had sports seats and my spider had power seats so i not sure about the hardware of a regular seat.
