Hi Martin, good to hear things are getting better. Yes I'm still interested. What are our options again? I have a euro 1983 308 GTS Sorry this took so long to reply, haven't been here for a while.
Sorry guys, but I just had to notice that DHL is a PITA and again delivers via ship. This can take up to 60 (!) working days (!). US West Coast even longer. I think, that's not acceptable. And therefore I am not able at the moment to ship such small items to the US at competitive costs. I will come back with the topic, when things will finally improve. Best from Germany Martin
Thank you, Martin. Have you considered Fedex? You may not be aware, but DHL has very weak service in the US, inferior to both UPS and FedEx. They typically hand off to the US Postal Service as DHL does not have their own delivery service in most areas. Best regards, Jack.
Hi Jack, much too expensive in the three digit range. Meanwhile I have found an alternative, which is called "Transglobal Express" via USPS. But it would still be € 15.00 per shipment, while formerly the Deutsche Post/DHL alternative was around €7.00. I have heard about the poor service DHL offers, but I have no bad experiences. I had around 100 shipments all over the world during the past two years prior to Covid-19 circumstances and just two shipments got lost. One on its way to the USA and one to Australia. In both cases DHL sent me a full refund and I could reimburse the buyers or I sent replacements. Let me know -Jeff as well- whether €15.00 shipment would be acceptable for you for such small items. Best Regards Martin
Martin I’m just curious but if I want a brighter LED, could you make them brighter than what they are something like the same brightness as the original bulb type?
Hi Mike, I dimmed the LEDs significantly, so that the light inside the handbrake lever doesn't distract while driving in the dark. Especially with tan or similar light leather interiors some folks claimed, that the original 3W filament bulb is too bright. I simply used some special green bulb paint for dimming the LEDs. Without the paint they are much brighter. You can easily remove the paint with some nail polish remover or laquer thinner. It won't harm the lights. Just don't immerse them in solvent But be aware, that it's a "point of no return". Means, if the light is too bright then, you need some of this special paint. Best Martin
Martin, yes, €15.00 is no problem. I've bought stuff from Wallothnesch for my BMW's and they ship somehow that connects with our U.S.P.S. and the cost is reasonable
Hello together, I will order material tomorrow. The whole invoice including shipping will be around $ 35.00 for one piece and around $ 53.00 for two pieces including trackable and insured shipping (7-10 working days to the US). It also depends a bit on the €/$ conversion rate. Sorry, material got more expensive and DHL forces me to choose a different shipping courier twice the former price. Best from Germany Martin
Just for information. there was some delay in material supply, but today I began making the first few of the fresh batch. Image Unavailable, Please Login Best from Germany Martin
I have completed the new batch this afternoon and will contact all of you with payment and shipping details shortly. Like always I take Paypal via a paypal.me-link for most a convenient payment procedure. Best Martin
Hello together, I have just wrote a message to all, who are interested in my fresh batch and sent them a Paypal-invoice. If there are any issues with the PP-Link or other trouble, please let me know. Best Regards from Germany and thanks in advance Martin
Hello all, seems, that two pieces of the green LEDs remain left over, since two folks, who ordered don't reply any more. Since it saves me a lot of effort and gets me a better price for overseas shipping, if I ship all oveseas parcels altogether, there's now an occasion till coming Sunday evening (European time) to purchase one or two of these LEDs. I promised the other FChat buddies, that I will ship on coming Monday. Best Regards Martin
@Martin308GTB if you have any green left, I'd love one! Please let me know where to PayPal and how much! Thanks, E
Hi Evan, thanks for your interest. I can make you one, though it will take a few weeks. Regarding costs see post #59. Unfortunately due to Covid-19 circumstances there are still limited options regarding couriers, which ship to the US and therefore it's still more expensive like it was two years ago. If you are interested in one anyway give me a "Go". Best from Germany and thanks again Martin
Martin, may I order one when you have stock? Thank you. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
