Hi, We are planning our family summer holiday in the Toronto/Montreal area and I noticed that there is the Les Sommet Des Legendes event at Le Circuit Mont Tremblant. Has anyone been before? Would you recommend it? Is the Fairmont Le Tremblant a good hotel to stay or would you recommend another hotel? Many Thanks Antony

We stay there - great hotel, very close to the mountain. Even for the summer. Enjoy your stay there !

I can't comment on any one particular hotel as I almost always go to Tremblant to race so my focus is not on having a nice room and fancy view. That said the entire area has been well developed as a vacation and leisure destination so there will be lots of outdoor activities to do away from the track for the family. As for the track it is magnificent to both drive and spectate at as it is set among trees and lakes with huge elevation changes. The Legends event there brings out some fantastic cars and the setting is beautiful so barring rain (which the area is known for) the event is a spectators dream. I would strongly urge you to consider making time to do this event at Tremblant as you will be surrounded by exceptional cars and beautiful nature.

If you want to go high end stay at The Quintessence! It’s comparable in $ to the Fairmont but way nicer.
I am a PCA (Porsche) driving instructor and we hold 5 DE events a summer at Le Circuit. It’s rated one of the top 20 tracks in the world !
It’s definitely a great attraction not to be overlooked

If you're interested, I know a great B&B in Tremblant. Much, much nicer than the best five-star hotel. Give me some time, and I can dig it up.

FYI, Toronto and Montreal are about 5 hours apart by car. 8 at rush hour.

There are a lot of nice roads around Tremblant as well. I used to have a lot of family there. I'll probably be there a few times this summer.

Hey, I'm lucky to know what year it is. Summer would be my guess but if you want more than that I'm the wrong guy to ask. Looking forward to it. Never been in that part of Canada and I understand it is beautiful. Thinking of bringing a car. Have to get Bob Smith to save me some room in a truck.

Ha ha! Yes, go. Mt. Tremblant is great, and the track is even better. I participated in the first Ferrari driving school there in 2005. (Funny side note: they didn't even make us sign damage waivers.) The rest of the area around there? Meh.

Awesome news that the national meet will be at Tremblant in 2020. I may just take the 308 for a road trip and the drive from Toronto is really nice especially with the new highway that links through Ottawa.

You guys did a great one last time. Looking forward to 2020. Ted Rutland was bitching the entire time at the last one. When asked at passport control he told them he was there on business. They charged him for a work visa. It broke his heart to give them the money. I never stopped telling him how dumb that was.

    Rest in peace Ted.

I have made it to Tremblant in little more than 2 hours on a Friday afternoon, but you gotta know how to swoop.

I found it. This is the B&B I've used before. Great place. Owners make you feel like you're at home.

Thank you all again for the great information. We fly into Toronto and aim to drive up to Montreal over 2 weeks. We have never been to Canada before.
@cls, How do I learn to swoop? :)
@Texas Forever, Thanks for that link I will follow it up.

In the winter, you have to have professional training. Since you're coming in the summer, know that Quebec drivers come in two categories: ridiculously slow and inattentive or out of control. Follow the out of control drivers to the right and swoop past the inattentive drivers on the left. Works well on all freeway onramps and the dreaded 15-40-15 getting out of the city on the way to Tremblant. Fair warning, 99.9% of Quebec drivers view scrapes and dents on their cars as character building and not something to be avoided.

Lot’s to do around both Toronto and Montreal.

    Toronto:
Niagara Falls and the wine country
Barrie - cottage country, lots of Lakes Etc. Nice roads

Ottawa: Can go white water rafting on the Ottawa river, one of the best places in the world for that. Calabogie is a great track.

Montreal: Casino, old Montreal, Tremblant area, with very nice roads there too!

Beware 50km/h over the limit and you lose your ride for 7 days along with your licence in Ontario.
