    The house is in great shape.

    The owner, a widow in her 90s, is looking to sell quickly and move in with family (4K sq-ft is a lot for one person.)

    Lautners have been selling in the $20M range, so this masterpiece may well be a steal for someone of means with this sort of taste. (It would be nice if a patron or foundation could open it up to the public, either full time or on a limited basis.)

    the cost ballooned from $75,000 to more than $1 million.

    Did the Dept. of Defence have anything to do with this??

    It's beautiful, but a little to "Dr. Office" for me. While not the same style, the Neutra home that Jerry Casale just sold is a bit more my speed.

    very cool house.....is the interior 'livable' or just a showplace?
    one of the things I found was at F. L.Wright's Falling Water, it is a remarkable piece of architecture, but I just couldn't see myself living in that house, no matter how cool it looked

    That criticism comes up again and again. It seems that his clients had to pay an enormous price for that sort of perfection.
