Anyone know when Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro will launch the F2004 car?
Ferrari hasn't announce an official launch date yet but it has been rumoured maybe on January the 26.
January 14 the Sauber team will launch its new car in Valencia. Since it is using (for the first time) the Ferrari gearbox and the new Ferrari engine, that launch is like half a Ferrari launch.
Don't be nasty Jack, these are after all my compatriots! Sauber just opened its wind tunnel which at this moment is state of the art, actually the best in the world. The only one where they can even put two cars in it to study the aerodynamic effects of slip streaming while producing windspeeds beyond 300 km/h with a rolling floor. Not even Ferrari can do that currently. If it weren't for the damned Bridgestone tires I would expect great things from Sauber (and Ferrari) in 2004. But I think the Michelins will still be a second faster. The tests so far have been very discouraging.
Nothing against underdogs Andreas, on the contrary even. I wouldn't mind seeing F1 losing Ferrari, McLaren and Williams at the same time and letting the smaller teams battle it out amongst them. I'm just worried that we might see incidents like last season with the Jordans breaking up in straight line with other teams as well. Jack
This thread: http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2998 has the following photo of what is supposedly the 2004 F1 car. I don't know anything further.
I doubt that this is the F1 2004 it looks like the 2003 GA I am sure that there will be many visible changes made to the 2004 car. IMHO i doubt that the 2004 car is even starting to be layed up in the molds for the tub just yet.
Uh, oh. No! By now they MUST have a rolling car together or they won't make it on time. And I bet they do and the rollout will be in mid January.
I heard it will be the 26th of januari, but not confirmed. I know they would like to launch earlier than last year (where I was lucky enough to attend the launch of F2003-GA) to get more testing in.
