I read this in the latest issue of Forza Magazine...

"Ferrari has announced a service campaign for some late-model cars, and a recall on certain Testarossas and 512Ms.

Service Campaign #148 pertains to the OBD II connector on F355, 456, 550, 575M, 360, and Enzo models built between 1996 and 2004.

Recall Campaign #37 relates to passive restraint systems on 1991-1995 Testarossas and 1995 512 Ms.

Owners of these cars are asked to contact any authorized Ferrari dealer with their VIN number. The updates will be completed at NO CHARGE."

On 355, 456,550,575,360,Enzo there is a ground pin missing in the OBD II connector under your dash board. Most of these cars have trouble getting the inpsection stations to read the OBD computer. They get a link failure. By adding this pin, and I have done 6 of them already, it is very simple, you no longer have this issue. I have full details of the procedure if anyone needs it.

If I recall, you were/are charging a fee of roughly $150.00 for your fix. Funny it's free at the dealerships.

I am charging $100 for the fix and yes it is free to the consumer at the authorized dealers, FNA is paying the warranty claims to the dealers, so they are making their money. All have a choice drive or send your car to the dealer (at a cost) or go to an independent for $100. IfFNA would pay me for warranty claims I wouldn't charge the consumer either.

Your choice of which is the better deal.

Answer your statement? Why do you even give a damn?

Because you said that you were "out of the service business" or did you forget.

You can buy a cable that goes between the OBDII connector on the car and your scanner for $50-$60 from some folks on the West Coast, Ferrari specific, to deal with this problem. Or you can add a jumper so that pin 4 and pin 5 are grounded, IIRC. Wade's charge doesn't sound unreasonable to fix this.

So... it I (a) don't have emmisions to deal with and (b) can already read the OBDII codes for diagnostic things, I guess it is really unnecessary for me.

    Thanks for the help

Doug you and your constant defamatory statements are going to get you in trouble some day. You should think before you type. Oh, and no I am not out of the service business I am just out of the Doug business. One too many trips to your house to show you how to change a light bulb. It gets old!!! Even older when you don't offer to pay for my time.

You need to learn that "OLD" cars break, it's nobodys fault it just happens. Especially if you sit at a stop light and red line the engine every chance you get. You've been spotted.

So with all due respect p*ssoff, I hope you never need my service again because I won't be there to hold your hand while changing your tail lights.

Those weren't trips to my house to fix light bulbs putz, they were to fix the incidentals that you never got around to when you sold me the cars. I understand that "old cars" break but when you represent the cars as perfect examples you would think those issue's would be non-issues.

Pay you for your time....LMFAO! You should be paying me for my time for wasting it with/on you....

It is beyond me how you continue to exist selling & servicing cars especially Ferrari's.

My comments regarding you are hardly defamatory, I guess the truth does hurt.....
