Hi all, Does anyone know what is the last vin on the 89 328 gts that was imported to USA? Thanks advance!!
I don't know of an official source, but 82600 to 83000 would be a good range to guess. I do know of a GTB with 82566. Dave
The GTS ended with 83075 (per Blumel), the latest I have in the States in my very incomplete list is 82932. It's an August 89 build, Red/Tan. I know there's other people out there with more complete registries, hopefully they will chime in. You may also talk to Carbon McCoy, the FML may have a record on a later VIN
I wonder if they're 100% sequential. mine is 81763, build July '89 I think. Seems like a lot of cars (1200+ between July and August per this thread). Anyone know?
According to Keith Bluemel's chassis notes in Cavallino (I'm looking at issue 146), the last 328 GTS was 83136. I have the last UK car as 83092 (don't have anything on that particular car, but 83091 definitely exists as a UK car). I actually have the last Euro car as 83095, so I'm not sure which version 83136 would have been! Jonathan
There is currently a 328 gts on the owners club site for the u.k.it states that it is catagorically the last 328 gts built. It is difficult as mondial t production was well under way and early 348 production was started alongside that of the 328.83075 seems familiar to me from some production data that i have.
I think my dad had the last production 328 GTS? Black/black, he got it from the Toy Store (what a joke they are now...). I'll be home tuesday, and I have the temp. tag, I can check it then post up the vin. Can anybody check that car?
I think it is generally agreed that the very last 328 GTS was not a US model, but it could be your dad had the last US car. If you can find out the chassis number I can confirm that. Thanks for pointing that out. It would make sense that it should be a Swiss version (as stated in the ad.) as I only have the last numbers for UK, US and Euro versions and last number overall (83136, as previously stated). I would assume, therefore, that the car mentioned in the ad. is 83136. I definitely know of at least one car later than 83075, so I'm confident that is not correct as the last made. You are, of course, correct that there is often an overlap of numbers at Ferrari when the new model starts up, but the old is still being made. Jonathan
Yes you are right. I meant to add that the sole information i have is on last import into the u.k. Maranello published a brief book a few years ago which carried this data, but it contained no information about definitive last number worldwide.
