Saw Hobbs and Shaw this weekend. It was fun to watch. Mindless entertainment, which I need sometimes.

 

Good to know the Fast and Furious franchise is keeping it up. I like watching it as it's so ridiculous it's funny to me.

 

Lion King...

 

I watched I,Tonya again. Margot Robbie and Allison Janney did a great job. It's a pretty decent movie.

Tonya got paid $1500 for the rights...which is a pretty big kick in the nuts haha.

Rocket man

 

Red Sea Resort - Acting was not the best but the story was great. I had read about it but never more than just a quick lines. I want to find out more.

 

It was amazing, very well done and great acting, esp by the staff of the hotel. Very violent but then so was the real event. Made me think so many times, what would have happened if 4 or 5 guys would have had a gun...

 

Lion King - The cartoon was better. I cant stand Beyonce's voice.

 

The Curse of La Llorona

Literally fell asleep 40 minutes in. Terrible movie.

 

I'd give a slightly dissenting view.

Thought it was a mediocre movie, but not terrible. I did manage to watch the whole thing. Have certainly seen much worse, and MUCH better.

 

Dragged Across Concrete.

The worst movie I have ever seen, and by a long way.

 

Yeah i started watching it in the airplane and couldnt be bothered to finish it.

 

Avengers endgame at home and The Art of Racing in the Rain....sucker for dogs especially one named Enzo!

Comically violent and graphic.

Downton Abbey. Many, many good zingers from the Dowager Countess. Parts of the plot you could see coming from 2 miles away, but still entertaining. Ended in a way that they can do a sequel if they want. Which means if it makes enough money.

Joker. Except for the obvious class war fare Joaquin Phoenix did a FREAKING GREAT JOB.

Oscar worthy.

 

Gremlins - 8/10 awesome!!!

Watching 80's stuff with the kids and yes, the puppets, strings etc are very noticeable now, but the story, characters, and all the attention to detail in sets etc were really engaging - oh and the kids loved it.

Gremlins 2 next.

 

That laugh, brilliant. Very cool to see him transform and his interaction with Bruce.

 

I haven't seen Joker yet, but this SNL parody last night was spot on the Joker trailer. Hilarious.

 

Ad Astra in imax, the first movie I've seen in a theater in a few years.
My observations: the movie trailers hit 95dB according to my apple watch. it was loud. I am definitely old and you should stay off my lawn.
The movie itself did not stand up to scrutiny, plot-wise, but it was an enjoyable watch on the big screen.

Oh, and if you're going to watch Gremlins 2, don't watch this first.

 

Saw Ad Astra as well. A little disappointing, as I was excepting a sci-fi extravaganza and got a 1.5hr Brad Pitt monologue wrestling with his relationship with his father. Extremely predictable....are people getting paid to write stories/scripts like these? WTF.
