Hey guys, I saw the recent post on the chp 11-99 plates and thought some might be interested.
I'm not sure if it's ok to post this here but was trying to look for Los angeles members.
I have a few extra KMA-367/KJC-625 LAPD license plate frames . This is an alternative to being a CHP 11-99 member.
    $25 local pickup
    $30 shipped

The deal with the 11-99 membership is that this money goes to the families of fallen officers. It would be wrong to purchase a 11-99 frame without paying for the membership. If the LAPD or Sheriffs department works the same way I feel it would also be wrong to purchase these plates without joining.

It is funny, i keep seeing plastic 11-99 plates. i am assuming they are fake. Are they all the same.....or in years past did they have plastic ones?

If they're fakes, it will be hard to produce the proper identification that comes with the membership.

This is Kalifornia... high tech drivers license...DMV online...red light cams...why could they not find a way to flag your registration and/or drivers license with the appropriate org you threw money at? Officer pulls your record up ..boom...it's there.

Well, that is why each actual paying 11-99 member has a gold plate in a wallet with their name and member # on it. The member identification doesn't stop at just the plate holder.

Every time I pass a CHP now I feel very good about having contributed to the foundation. Each individual time it brings satisfaction which will always re-occur. I wouldn't even come close to that feeling if I just bought the plate holder..

Having those LAPD plate holders, usually those are given to family. I don't know how smart it is to lie to a cop, and I also don't know how smart it is to lie about family involvement with the police force. But just my opinion...

My wife works at the LAPD Training Academy. These license holders are readily available in their building store. The store is open to the public.

maybe its because they are suppose to be unbiased. their decision to pull you over and give you a ticket is not suppose to depend on if you donate or not. so if youre a member or not shouldnt be in their system.
