Totally agree. Of all the "folded paper" designs of that era, the original Countach and the Stratos stand out as the two best. You can argue which is better but both are amazingly beautiful cars.
Easily one of the most beautiful car designs, ever. Its storied reputation in rally racing doesn't hurt, either. Really liking this color!
that and an integrale for hauling the family is the perfect 2 car garage... I can only imagine the anticipation.
Phil Your totally upside down on this restoration! You will love your Grifo even more after your done. I give you credits for buying your dreams.
everyone LOVES a Stratos....and then you kill us with those colors = AWESOME in every way!!! PLEASE more photos
thanks everyone! that is the original color, but it had been repainted to with marlboro rally livery, so i wanted to bring it back to what it was supposed to be...i can get the paint code, if you like...i wasn't sure about going back to the original gold wheels, but then when i saw them on the car, it looked great...now i'm just terrified to drive it! i've read so many horror stories..i'll be in the bloody right hand lane going 30!
Did you import yourself or buy it in the states? IIRC, Armand Giglio's (former American Lancia Club president) Stratos was blue and he lives/lived in Brewster NY. Another blue one I've seen in Tennessee. And a blue 1976 w/ many competition parts in Oregon.
i found it in the states...it had been in a museum in germany for the last 20 years, so it needed some sprucing up!
You're very lucky then. It's one of the all time classic Italian exotics. Even if people never head of the Stratos, when they see it they immediately fall in love with it. Many years ago on a trip to Italy, I found an original Marlboro liveried rally car in the basement of an exotic car dealer who wanted to show me something "special". I still remember that day. I think the Dayglo orange paint burned my retinas! Good luck with the restoration. Post some new pics when you can.
just need to finish windscreen, and then i'm done! the A110 was the rally master before the stratos showed up! Image Unavailable, Please Login
