Lamborghini crashes, splits into 5 pieces
Owner purchased car 2 days ago, Orlando police say

Two people are recovering after a Friday crash involving an Italian supercar in Orlando.

Police said the driver of a Lamborghini was speeding down MacGuire Boulevard in Colonial Town Center, hit a bump in the road, caught air and crashed the vehicle into a tree, according to news partner News 6. The supercar split into five pieces and the driver and passenger were still strapped into their seats.

The driver, identified only as a man, suffered a broken leg and the passenger suffered a head injury.

Police said the man purchased the car, which appears to be a Lamborghini Huracan, just this week.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.

Surely a surreal experience for the first responder... to see the two occupants sitting there.

It seems from the post no one was hurt other than the car itself.

    hope for the best

I'm quite sure after events in Orlando two weeks ago, that first responders have
    seen much, much worse...

Thank god they didn't kill anyone else. This is what burns me up about being overly reckless. It's all fun until you kill some innocent family on their way home from a restaurant.

Actually the guy took delivery the same day. From talking to a mutual friend the driver suffered a broken leg and the passenger a small hit to the head but nothing too major.

Just because one can buy a car like that, does not mean he is able to drive one

This. And you can say this about any sports car, not just exotics.

A friend of mine that has no real driving experience bought a brand new WS6 Trans Am back in the day, and when he did I knew he was going to wreck it. He totaled it out driving in the rain as he was spinning the tires and lost control, throwing the car into a curb sideways at a high rate of speed. Luckily no one was hurt.

I couldn't imagine taking delivery of a new Lambo/Ferrari and totaling it that night. I cringe even at rock chips!

That was my friend's car which I test drove. It was sold to Lamborghini Orlando then to the new owner.

From the pic that looks like a road that would have traffic and you shouldn't be speeding on.

The accident took place where maguire meets colonial. Second hand knowledge for me but apparently the driver was crossing 50 and launched over the peak of the road and lost control approaching the Target. Driver got the car that day but not his first Lambo. Passenger looks like he lost to Tyson. Driver has a badly very damaged leg among other serious injuries.
