There were no 'intentional acts of violence' committed. I am sure that Sato didn't intentionally hit Micheal and I did not see Michael do anything more than tap Sato on his helmet to get his attention.

I was happy to see that Michael was as pissed off as me about what had happened. I wouldn't have blamed him if he had committed an 'intentional act of violence', but he didn't.

Yup yup yup. Had he just walked out of the car without violenting Sato , i would have been pissed.

In reality, that "slap" was not a big deal. It was a light tap (pathetic, actually) on a helmeted head. That said, it was VERY disrespectful. Where I'm from a fight will almost certainly result from something like that, so then consider some of intricacies of eastern, particularly Japanese culture.

They are very sensitive to issues of respect and particularly the head, as they still bow to one another as a sign of humility and respect in Japan. I wonder how MS's little girly-slap was received in Japan? Has Sato been shammed? Hari kari has been committed over less....

Excellent point, at least when MS confronted Damon Hill at Monza in 95 they were racing for position. Maybe Impy was right, Sato really is a little prick.

One can tell MS was immediatly sorry after he tapped Sato's visor by looking at his body language when walking back to his car. This is pro racing at its highest ( lowest ? ) level. Lots of emotions, big egos. Part of the package.

Wrong they were going up the inside of a couple of other cars I believe.
All incidents are caused by somebodies mistake ... so what!, that's racing.
Me too :), but the childish attacks at Sato are pathetic by many here and the FIA. Moving him back 10 places for this is crazy. Pizza boy did far worse by taking out JPM and he only got fined.

Racing is racing and yes I can understand MS being pissed off and do not criticise him for the very minor slap on Sato's helmet, but Sato should not have been penalised for this. Soon nobody will want to take a chance or risk because some idiot in the FIA will see fit to fine him, etc. No wonder we hardly ever see passes!!

Also the rest of you guys here need to have a good hard look at yourselves and be honest ... you are only pissed because you were having a wet dream and thought MS might actually do well or even win. Well sorry guys the very best he was going to get would have been say 3rd, but Ferrari had already stuffed that by changing to slicks and then having to pit again to correct that mistake (like many others).

So lets move on and like grown ups get over it.
    Pete

MS has tried to run more people off the road than anyone ever in F1, so why all of a sudden is he made a saint?

Do you mean his standing starts when he moves over to block the guy next to him? Or are you speaking about Hill in 94 in Australia, Villenueve in 97, HHF in Canada in 98, or trying some blocking moves on Mika?

Well I will give you Senna in 1990, but I think 89 it was a combination. And as far as Adelaide in 1992 I think Mansell missed his braking point, or perhaps Senna may have Brake Tested him a bit.

Any crazier than ten spots for an engine change?

Pizza boy is a substitute driver -- what good is giving Pizzo a ten spot grid penalty when he might not be on the next grid? And a ten place move might decide that question by itself. There was some speculation that the only reason Pizza boy was driving at Spa is that Heidfeld would have had to go out first in qualifying.

Geez Frank take it easy, we are no different than arm chair quarterbacks here. It is just that there are guys out there who would do a better job than Sato in that seat.

Oh by the way Pete, I know your joking. Same here.
