I have a question about the 296. When I took it to the dealership for pre-track check-up, the keyless entry feature and auto lock when leaving the car stopped working. Is it possible that the Ferrari factory removed this feature? I noticed that in the car settings (in the doors settings), there is no indication of keyless car entry or auto door locking. Have anyone heard from the dealers that Ferrari removed this feature from their cars?

There has been an update for all 296 and SF90. You can now select whether you want to have this feature activated or not. Default is set to deactivated.

The same thing happened to me yesterday. The dealer did a software update (unrequested) and now auto lock doesn’t work - despite me checking that box in settings. The dealer is investigating…

I was having this problem on my SF90 after update / recall 499.
My tech informed me that if the passive / keyless entry isn't working just lock the car via the fob. Then press lock on the fob two more times and it will active keyless lock / unlock mode (i.e. walk away mode).

I am quite annoyed with my car locking itself up really quick even if I am still standing right next to it. And I mean right next to it.
If this bothers you as well and you are not able to disable this passive self locking mode via the settings, here is a useful tip.
As you just shut the door close, and you have the key fob in your hand, quickly (and I mean quickly) double press the lock button. This will not lock your car up. It will leave it open. It will not let it self close.
This is not a permanent change in the set up unfortunately. But at least it works when you know you do not want the car to lock up immediately.

I find my car automatically resets with every key cycle to "long park mode" which is wildly frustrating.

Does this mean that there’s no way to change this setting today? Thanks

Can confirm pressing the lock button twice from the key fob does enable/disable the keyless entry.

Thanks for posting the answer. I got my 296 gtb back from the complementary checkup ( 200 kms). Then noticed keyless entry stopped working!, searching for this issue lead me to this article and indeed doubleclicking the lock on the key fob while the car is locked re-enabled keyless entry. I’m surprised this change of behaviour was not announced. Any one knows what other changes the software update does?. Thank you.

My car after update suddenly now honks the horn 3-times every time I turn the car off. With the key so de the car and I’m still seated. Really annoying and not sure how to disable that. Seems as it has something to do with key fob.
