    Got a four foot longboard.

Great for checking the waves. Repave job on the road to the beach has a dip in the middle for drainage that i can work to maintain speed. Kind of a long bowl. With the waves being the way they are lately it's the often the best surfing i do all day.

I've also started browsing for a 1987 Haro FST in red like I use to have. Those are kinda pricey these days, especially ones in good condition.

Just want to remind everyone to stay safe out there. Had a bad fall yesterday, on my BMX bike, and went into shock. Not fun.

Picked up the 2009 DK Opsis today, as I found out with the 2005 Haro Mirra Flair there aren't many flatland completes anymore. Market just isn't big enough, the DK Signal now called the Opsis is one of the few exceptions. I've also started looking into collecting freestyle bikes back from the period when I did it. I got a restored frame & fork of a 1987 Haro Team Master. Hard to find all the correct parts, especially in good condition.

    Very impressive Rob!

I wish I still had my old Redline. It was just prior to the peg days.

How have the mid-life skaters been doing?

I went to one public skatepark last month. The smooth concrete, the bowls, all amazing and beyond what I would consider a dream skatepark. The kids there were incredible and although I couldn't do much, I was still getting back into the swing of it. Here's the skatepark I went to: http://www.roundrocktexas.gov/home/index.asp?page=1366

Man I envy you guys. I bought a skateboard some years ago but I was never good enough to do anything but sort of drive in a straight line.

I just don't trust things without an engine I guess:D.

saying that, used to bodyboard a lot, and for a bit I surfed. Kitesurfing always appealed to me though, might give it a try soon!

Man you guys are making me want to go ride my bike. I raced BMX for about 5 years when I was in middle and high school. I still ride occasionally, but I can't do many tricks. I just do little grinds, manuals, bunny hops etc.. hopefully it will get warm enough soon to ride again.

Rob, how are you liking the Opsis? Been dying to get a 20 inch flatland bike.

Found my old (late 70s) G&S wooden board, Benett Pro Trux and red Kryptonic C70s in the nephew's shed recently. Best street wheels for decades.

Some of the down time at rally races we watch Dave Mirra, Travis Pastrana, Ken Block, Jim Dechamp and Cowboy Kenny Batram freestyle on bikes.

Back on topic! I am thinking about a longboard myself. I have not ridden in almost 20 years (high school) and well a lot of frienda of all ages around me started riding longboards. My cousin is an executive chef and he has been longboarding for a while, since Sector 9 started selling boards out there in San Diego.

Not sure what kind of longboard or trucks to get.

Unfortunately haven’t ridden it much. I was practicing flatland more right before I got the Opsis on my Haro, but haven’t been interested lately. The Opsis wasn’t as light as I expected, still heavy like the Haro and much heavier than the old school “freestyle” models of the 80's. I bet it does better flatland than Mirra because purpose built.
