Upholstery is 60% completed. Seat frames were stripped, sand blasted and powder coated. Re-webbed, I bought 5 new hides from the U.K. from original Ferrari samples. Brand new inserts fro the seats, as well. The alloy trim inserts were stripped and re-anodized. all fixing screws were also stripped and replated. Before I put a new cabin tub in. I fabricated six alloy panels that are 10mm deep and as you can see, I then placed ceramic blanket between the panels on the inside and the fiberglass back wall. On the engine bay side, this was sprayed with a product called lizard skin. It acts as a sound deadener and fire barrier. This was then sprayed silver and installed, so it looks identical to the original. I was far from happy with the crap foam that Ferrari installed. Given that with enough oil, grease, and spilt fuel etc, would act as an exellent wick! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thank you I appreciate it.Lots of work and sleepless nights for sure. You have no idea how hard it is for me to say this, but a big thank you to Paul Newman for all his help over the last few years. He has a great passion for the marque, and a wealth of knowledge on the BB. Boy that was hard!!!
You've just seen it..sheesh,it's taken me another 5 years to catch up! I'm one of the lucky one's to have seen this lovely creature. Sweet,Wayne.
I read on a Dino post that one 512BB owner said his car was delivered originally in violet metallic. I’ve searched and searched, is there a photo, or VIN documentation of any Boxer painted in that color?
