I have a NOCO GBX75. It has the clamp on clips to connect to the battery to start if it goes dead

Has anyone actually done this? I have not yet and hopmi never have to.

But the clamps look pretty big and it looks pretty tight where the battery posts are on the battery innthe compartment

Was it easy? Any tips? Rather learn now than when I'm broken down and stressed ..

Maybe try a practice run by clamping the battery clips on the battery posts as best you can but DO NOT turn on the jump starter until you are sure of connections being solid and secure. In any case do not turn on the GBX75 until connections are made and you get the green light. On my 458 I have a copper lug that I made that extends off the positive terminal that is my clamp on place for positive. The negative terminal has enough exposed metal on the release clamp that I don't need any extra lug to clamp. Each vehicle battery situation is different and variable. Try it out would be best way to learn that, and maybe make a picture of it and attach it to the Unit or inside the battery door as a reminder.

I have a NOCO as well, but I can imagine what a clusterf*** it’d be if I actually had to use it. At night, in the rain, of course

I have a NOCO and used it once on my 488 spider. There's not a lot of room but i could get the clips on the terminals well enough to start the car. At night, you had better have a flashlight.

I'm in same boat- have one but havent used it and also wonder how once I need it..... and yes, the F430 is a big no no-- I had two over 11 years but the F430 had the nice switch in bonnet to turn off all power which kept battery from going dead.

I have one and used it to jump start my F8 successfully. As mentioned in previous posts, I was a bit nervous I was going to damage the electronics so I called the dealership and had a tech on the phone while I jumped the car. NOCO Boost got me out of a jam. I replaced the battery shortly afterwards.

I posted this pic before which I took at the Ferrari dealer. They charge and jump start (if needed) with the positive clamp connected to the positive battery pole. I observed that the negative clamp was connected to the battery metal frame which provides an adequate ground. In this case a Pista with a Lithium battery. Should work for non-Lithium batteries. So it appears that as long as you have a good ground,no need to squeeze between the negative battery pole.

Thanks for posting this pic as it jogged my memory. When I jumped my F8, I attached the negative clamp to the metal frame around the battery. It wasn't too difficult to maneuver.

I wanted to share this with everyone so they could see it's easy to do and maybe practice before hand and not when you are in your Tuxedo with your date in her sexy outfit wearing jewelry and watches, as you are broken down in a bad neighborhood and stressed, with rain pouring on you.

The battery clamps go on easily. And there is plenty of room for the clamp on the positive terminal.

The negative terminal will be hard to reach, but if you clamp onto the negative shut off switch post, there is tons of room!

See my pictures. You will see how to do it.

When you hook up, the larger "!" Button, under the HD lettering lights up in red . This IS NOT an error indicator, rather a bypass option in case your battery is so dead, the stsrter does not recognize it and you want to override the safety features so that it still can work. Totally normal for it to be lit and it's red. It lights up, I think, so you can find it easily, not because something is wrong.

If you hooked up incorrectly, the little "!" With them small diamond background will light up to the left ofmthe 4 power bar indicators at the top next to the on off switch. This should be off

Hit the power button and you will see the 4 power LEDs light up and chase each other

Your charger will make clikcing noises. My never really stopped clicking.

Immediately to the right of the NOCO Boost HD lettering is a white light that will light up when it's ready to start your car. In my pic it lit up.

The light bulb icon turns on a flashlight so you can use this thing as a light.

I didn't boost my car or start as my battery is brand new.. Just wanted to go through the process up until starting the car and show you guys, its easy. Still think you should practice once after reading this.

The thumb scree to hold the battery compartment door does not screw in straight back, but at a slight angle. You will thank me later for pointing this out.

My only concern is that the clicking noise didn't really stop when it was hooked up and I turned on the unit . Hope it's normal. Let me know ifmdoes this when you do it, please

This is the Start -stop setup for the battery if your car has that option. If your car doesn't have that option the neg terminal is up on top of the battery on the left. I suppose you could clamp the neg on the disconnect terminal just like you show in your picture. Thanks for the pic. I wonder if you could just clamp negative on the crossover bar that is connected to the chassis?
