This was a specially commissioned car for a disabled Ferrari lover by the specialized company Paravan that does disability vehicle conversions. They have done many Ferrari conversions

Why is that? Control by wire is not new... you dbw is that. More than likely this is no different and has redundant safety systems in place.

Every F-16 pilot knows of Fly-by wire so why not cars?

I’m a pilot. 360* controls are important for aviation and fly by wire has made systems safer.

On a car however, The small inputs on the joy stick driving on a two lane road with oncoming traffic, if you sleeve and your finger slips you would go into an oncoming lane. Inevitably small inputs will make large changes on a high performance car at speed. Two hands on a steering wheel during any spiritzed driving is critical for safety. I would putz around town with the joystick, but would never do any spirited driving.

unlike planes... The X and Y inputs can be scaled for the persons taste to include slow inputs around the dead band area and increase motion the further out from. I do that all the time around DBW depending on if i need control or quickness.
in the planes, since the plane is not assigned to one individual, they can not exactly do that. I know in the military we didn't regardless of plane assignments and who was flying.
