A recent episode of "Food Feuds" pitted John's Roast Pork against Tony Luke's - the roast pork sandwich.

For my money, John's roast pork is incredible - it would probably be my last meal. The Carangi bread is phenomenal, and the mild prov with spinach just adds the right flavor. Cheesesteak wails too - both sandwiches way better than Tony Luke's IMHO.

    What do you think?

I think that back to back weekend field trips is the only way to settle it once and for all.

Tony Lukes is good, and at 2am on a Friday night, John's is long closed. But, John's is wayyyy better all around.

Folks, I implore you to heed the advice of the resident ^Expert^ above, and hie thee to a pork roasterie one weekend, then another, um, another.

Indeed - I am way game for a back to back weekend trip!

When are we meeting? I am coming out from NJ - so I need advanced notice...probably close to 60 miles, but well worth it!

I ran into Tony at Main Line BMW a couple weeks ago (we were both going to the same showing of Jersey boys, I think Tony was getting a car), I have never eaten that stuff, but Tony is a really nice guy.

Toss in Pat's and Geno's and you've hit all the major bad for you food places open until 3AM spots in the area.

Certainly worth some consideration for a Spring adventure.

    OR...

we could have JoeZaff turn the whole thing into a rally. Four stops, with the fifth stop being a turnpike rest stop to unload what we spent the last 5 hours eating. :D

    I think there's a Tony Luke's in AC, isn't there?

Yes there is - in the Borgata. Heck, if we made that stop, then you should throw in White House Subs - absolutely AWESOME!

One issue for me is my old E-Type...not sure she's up for a rally, but if it's John's Roast Pork, I'll chance it :)

I chose neither. I think there are better options in the city.

You guys have GOT to do this, or I'll contact the New Jersey Devil himself, Augie, so he can organize a forced Scrapple run.

Here's a curve ball, how about Pulled Pork at Pig Out BBq in Glen Mills PA?
It's some seriously good pulled pork, and great roads near by.
