    To correctly repair a car like the F50, it should be sent back to Maranello.

    You mean 104746 and 104799. It is six digits, not four.
    4746 would be a Dino and 4799 would be a 250 GTE 2+2.

    I think what Marcel was pointing out on the 104799 chassis plate photos, the upper carbon cover at one time was finished with a straight angle cut in the corners, where it surrounds the chassis number, in the later photo the upper carbon cover has a circular cut in the corners where it surrounds the chassis number - suggesting that during the repair work, the upper carbon cover was replaced and finished in a different style from original.
