if you have the original slave still, the AW22 Toyota MR2 slave has the same internals. you can get a rebuild kit for the toyota and refurbish it that way.

 

I bought one from GT Parts in Arizona several years ago.

 

they costed from the factory about $600 a decade ago - for a regular alfa cylinder which was sleeved, which is now an advantage, you can easily hone them (without risking to break the base cylinder) and replace the joints - done.

I need a Jalpa !

 

Is anything known about this example? I'd remove all of the suspension components and send them off to powder coating, but the exterior/interior look very clean.

It's there for sale since dec. 2017 with exactly those Pictures.

 

From what I'm told that car is far from clean.

 

Must be the reason why it has sat unsold for so long, hard to tell online. The ad mentions "leather treatment", hopefully that doesn't mean that the seats have been dyed....

 

That is the original colour scheme, esterno bianco perlato, interno rosso con filetti bianchi...

 

Correct, I was referencing whether or not the seats had possibly been touched up. They're described as original, yet the rear backings looked faded compared to the seat face. It could just be the light, beautiful combination nonetheless.

 

It has a strange fuel filter and if buying the car only with the original air filter housing which might be NLA.

 

i have no affiliation with this vehicle but I think that its a decent car. a lot of really really nice examples of higher end vehicles (80k+) can sit on the market for years. there are a lot of reasons for them sitting unsold but its not always because they are piles..

Some progress also on my Jalpa. We were substituting the corroded cones by new cones made from full material.

Great work there! These sure seem to need a lot of work.. Raymond’s site seems to have a lot of info about rust and rot.

 

Dani visited me several times and bought the majority of my Countach Stock for his Projects.

But fixed the corroded areas

 

Wow, this is much more than the typical corrosion, looking at the thickness of the filler this is like hiding something when you bought the car, haven't seen this ever on a car which was sold by a dealer.

They still didn't find someone to install the gear lever knob correctly with the lock nut!
Radio is also missing.

 

Note they also call it a 1986..... it has a DLA vin which is 1983. This car is 1 number older than my old Jalpa. I had DLA12071.
