I thought this opening line was funny for a bloke trying to sell something that you really want the item to do! https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/redlynch/fishing/billy-pate-tarpon-fly-fishing-reel-right-hand-anti-reverse/1265337342

Selling vehicles is an interesting endeavour. Put my motorcycle up on bike sales, immediately get into this discussion. I was asking a couple of grand more than I actually wanted, and got what I wanted within a week. Have to love people who think their option matters or is even asked for.... Not just vehicles. You get that **** trying to sell anything these days. Last year I had some wanker get quite abusive when I ridiculed his low-ball offer on a set of BMW wheels I was selling. Told me I was a goose and had no idea about their value, I’d never sell them blah blah. Needless to say they sold within a couple of weeks at the full asking price, and the new owner was so happy he sent me a pic of them on his car.
Selling to QLDers is always a laugh I sold my 6' fish tank and beautiful custom made wooden stand I paid many hundreds of dollars for (well over a grand for the pair) Got $300 , I was asking $300, some dickhead turns up in a sh!tbox and asked me if I'd take $100 for it ......... yeah ok, the varnish on the stand would have been $100 If I advertised on gumtree I would have expected lowballers but this was the old days when we had reputable ways to sell. Sold my QV to a VIC inside a fortnight for exactly the amount I asked, paid in cash and was a lovely guy to boot I'm selling the challenge .... wanna buy it Steve ?
I got this one the other day, interesting same idea different location I'm ok with the condition as described on the advert.” “I work on North West Shelf in the Rowley Sub-basin in Perth and the reception here is terrible. We do not have access to phone at the moment, which is why I contacted you with internet messaging facility.”
For $50k it was a steal, I eventually sold it for $87k , told the guy everything that was good and bad, took him for a drive and he was very happy, so was I and I gave him a LOT of spares he would never need, hopefully. Like Greg he didn't like the lower tyres, got home to VIC, changed the tyres and said he was enjoying the car now with it sitting that little bit higher off the ground
Selling the Ex PP car. Advertised in the largest script possible:THIS IS NOT AND NEVER WILL BE A CONCOURSE CAR BECAUSE.. I gave all the reasons, most on here know why,and what sort of numbnuts turned up..all of those saying how much it was going to cost to get it to that level. I had about $15K over my bottom line and in the end a proper enthusiast from Melbourne paid me $2 1/2 K over my lowest...everyone happy. The worst of the concour dicks was the well known racing driver Marc deals with.
