She looks like a roach motel...
Buy it now for $20K, put $35K into her...and she's still only worth $18K completed.

Then again, with a "spray can" type restoration, maybe she can "be like new" for only another $20K?

Now, if we're talkin' a drift car, you've got my attention. Rice her up a little bit...and throw on some decals, loud pipes and we're ready to go!

Many Chaparral Can-Am cars were automatics.....so it has been done before. I do like the idea of a drift car. That would be entertaining! Call it the "Banana Peel". Get it? Get it? Peel? Peel out? har har har.

 

If you used some shoe polish to freshen up the interior, I wonder if you could pay for this car by giving rides for $20.

 

Don't you feel good about the quality of work and the attention to detail when everything behind the grill is painted body color. And yellow at that! At least the grill isn't yellow.

Al, the vertical vanes of the grill look like they are painted yellow, my guess is that the nose got a respray w/everything in place. This 400 has been in the Ebay auction off & on for at least a couple of years, the only thing this has going for it is the carbed motor. The rest of it looks shot!

 

Give her a couple of feet cut out of the chassis and custom al body.

 

The Chaparral torque converter cars weren't used in competition if I recall correctly.

 

Every time this car pops up, I walk to the garage kiss my car on the hood and tell myself "things could be worse".
