Our favorite in Menlo Park. Freindly bar tenders, great Matini's and the restaurants namesake Carpaccio is second to none.

i'll go to one of these next week... but need to decide which one... i'll report back with my review.

sundance would have been better if they brought me the right meal and didn't say it would take 30 mins to get the right one.

Have you guys ever seen the red 360 parket in front of Borders on University some nights?

Does it belong to someone here?

sundance is on probation for at least a year... maybe my waiter will be gone by then... but 2 yes votes... i guess I can't ban it forever. what do you guys get there?

i ordered the 12 oz filet and got a 12 oz prime rib that was horrible (cooked medium).
my gf got the small filet and I didn't care for the demi glaze sauce (cooked medium)

can you guys recommend a better entree?

Actually, I agree the prime rib at Sundance can be hit/miss, but now I usually get the sirloin (9 oz.) medium and I've never been disappointed. The clam chowder there is incredible.

Caffe Riace close by is pretty good too (outdoor seating only).

I suspect part of the problem may have been ordering your filets to be cooked medium. Then again, you didn't say you ordered them that way, only that that was what you were served. Filet mignon is typically ordered medium-rare or rare. I am told it is not unheard of for some steak places to save their less-perfect cuts for customers who order theirs more thoroughly cooked.

i've never had a problem with medium before... but i do think i need to drop to medium-rare from now on as the ends can be a little too well done. thank you for the suggestion. however, at sundance, this was most definitely not the problem and bringing me the wrong dish is a whole other story. i think with my gf's filet it was mainly a funky sauce... where as i prefer a prime grade filet without so much sauce to ruin the taste. maybe when i go there again it'll be medium-rare with no sauce.

    Glad you enjoyed it.

I don't know if you noticed, but that large parking lot in front of the restaurant would be a great place to fill with F cars for 8:00 dinner reservation some time. I'm sure Cia, the owner, would love it. She'd roll out the red carpet for us.
