    Hello,

I just noticed an issue recently which happened for the first time,

I was driving my SF90 spider in qualified mode then I reached Ferrari service center to I wanted to be less noisy and switch to electric mode BUT it did not allow me and I got a message saying (E manettino switch select not allowed) so was strange to me. So I parked the car in Ferrari center and 20 minutes later i tried to switch on but it started in engine mode NOT in electric mode! I pressed the eD button but again I got the same message again.

I drove the car, switch to hybrid and put it in Auto but the car did not switch to electric mode at all. So I returned to Ferrari again and they said will do some inspection.

Any idea whats going on? Why it’s not switching to electric mode and why am I getting this message?

Note that this is the first time in 14 months of ownership I face such issue and I am very much concerned that the car is not giving me a fault rather than giving me this message E manettino switch select not allowed

I’ve had the exact same thing happen with my 296. Has happened maybe 3 times and always fixes itself the next drive. I just write it off as a glitch in the matrix.

What is the state of charge on the battery? The hybrid system may not allow the e-only mode if it determines the battery needs charging. Even if the battery seems like it’s fairly well charged, the system may decide it wants the battery to charge more.

Actually had this happen in my 296 a few days ago. Without noticing I was running in edrive until it ran down so the car automatically turned on the ICE to charge so I tried to switch to Qual mode. Got the same error msg. Switched to Perf mode instead no problem. Tried to move to Qual mode again but same error. Left it in Perf mode till I managed to get about 3mi on the egauge then tried again and it switched no problem. Think if the battery is too low you can’t go to full power recharge in Qual mode.

Hmmm i do not think it was too hot, i left it for service and will see what the dealer says today
The dealer for sure is not qualified to answer whats the reason for having such msg and they are avoiding to rise it up to Ferrari in Italy!

That’s why many people hate this kind of electrically supported sportscars.
    A strange kind of driving…

I had somewhat similar behavior. My car would start in hybrid mode per usual with the ICE off and I could switch into eDrive just fine, but after a short drive in qualifying mode (~10 mins) I could no longer switch into eDrive and got the same message. The dealer had to perform a "prolonged low voltage battery reset & proxi alignment" on the car for other reasons (I suspect low 12V state of charge caused a bunch of systems to get into a weird state) and this cleared up the problem. I haven't had it happen since.
