Isle of Man TT

Some of the camera angles are positively frightening. Jumps, granite curbs, sidewalks, hairpins and the flatout run into the mountains. There is nothing like it. There is an angle of a curve where they get so close they brush up against a shrub that hangs out over the apex. A lot of tut tutting about how dangerous it is and it is. Last night, the stock bikes almost set an outright lap record. I would love to go over and see it in person.

 

It's a throwback event, like the old Spa. Safety seems to be secondary and there still seems to be at least one fatality every year. Suddenly it's 1960.....

 

I watch it every year without fail. It is truly amazing stuff.

F1 can't touch it for sheer excitement.

 

Already one death this year.
