I am testing my sound system that I installed all by myself with pretty much zero knowledge.....

The tweeters are both working but they sound almost like they're only squealing when connected without the woofers, is this normal?

I would have imagined that they contributed a little more to the sound that what I'm hearing but perhaps someone else can chime in and tell me if it's ok.

I had the radio volume set pretty loud and the bass and treble adjustment were at "0"

    Does this sound ok?

Do you have any crossovers in line with the tweeter or are you playing all the frequencies through it ?
It doesn't sound too good to me :(

It's hard to tell without hearing the entire tune through all the speakers and then changing the tune and starting over. It sounds kind of right on to me. It's a dedicated tweeter and probably has a filter right on it.

The radio output is separated with left and right with a + and -

Each side goes to a crossover that then sends out 2 separate signals (one for the tweeter and one for the woofer)

I made sure that all the + and - were exact when I did my wiring.

Also, the tweeter soudns about the same as the oem speaker. I guess the tweeter only squeals some hi-pitch sounds and nothing else?

I wouldn't worry about the + or - at the moment, it won't damage the speaker.
From the sound clip it just seems to be very muddled in its sound, maybe try posting a clip with female vocal.....

Yes, it is as it should be. A tweeter is a loudspeaker designed to produce HIGH audio frequencies

Correct. It only reproduces high frequency sounds. Used all by itself, you don't hear mich. You need the mid rang and the bass to finalize the audio.

It is also important that tweeters be pointed direct at the listener. Unlike bass, the high pitch frequency is directional and is most accurate when aimed at the ears....as you know, the subwoofer just needs to be in the car somewhere.

    Careful now..... :)

Ok so I guess the sound coming out of it is normal because it's exactly as you described.
