Ralphs shopping center. Large, with a Starbucks and Coogies.
10 minutes to go an additional 17 miles? So your average speed is about 102mph? Previous poster is correct; for the past year I've been driving the 101 from Camarillo to the VCR and there are plenty of speed traps on Sunday mornings. It may be open road, but there are still other drivers you're sharing the road with, even at 6 A.M. Cops are watching; I got pulled over once for having no front plate! Somebody mentioned a spot in Westlake. Would that be the Promenade, at Westlake Blvd. and Thousand Oaks Blvd.? Another excellent location just off the highway, although maybe still a bit too far for some L.A. folks.
I am so confused. I am going to go sit in the driveway and play with my hotwheels for the next few Sundays until someone tells me otherwise.
Not car gathering friendly. They'll be all over you before you can get out of your car. Seen it happen.
Lighten up boys. Did you not see the winking smiley face indicating sarcasm? I probably should have left out the "P" word. I'm sure some of you get uncomfortable when the tangle of overhead telephone lines, congestion and crowding give way to rolling hills and open road. OK with me if you want to stay in your comfort zone.
For a guy that lives in Mexico. He sure seems concerned about all of the silly laws we have in the states... I mean really. I think he should step outside his cave once in a while and witness the lawlessness with in 500 feet of him.....
How about moving it down toward LA a bit - meet at Krispy Kreme Donuts‎ 1521 N Victory Pl, Burbank, CA‎. Located in a gigantic parking lot that has multiple stores - including Target (which doesn't open until 800 am). Fwy close - right off the 5 fwy - food, bathrooms etc etc. ? I drive up from OC, so its got my vote! haha
Wait while I compute how many minutes driving at the speed limit that would be for me. Are there any CHPs that patrol the surrounding frwys? Then when we're done, instead of a run over Mulholland (always observing the speed limits) we can have a run down San Fernando Rd. NOTE the winking smiley face indicating sarcasm. (it's a joke, for those of you in Mexico)
The only issue I see is Burbank PD. They are famous for giving out tickets along with their sisters (Glendale and Pasadena PD).
CHP is always around there. I go shoot at the Firing Line in Burbank, and Fry's often from La Canada, and there are plenty of Chippers out there. Plus, not the smoothest road.
OK then, where is the "CAR SHOW" parking ?? (quoting the sign) Jeeez ..... semantics are always at play. Cheers, Hank
I think that sign means that your car can not show while you are parked there, so you must use some device, like a black tarp, to cover it up or hide it . Perhaps some camoflauge netting could work as well.
Brian, OK then, We'll park the car and then "deploy" our Spider Top !!!!~ We're just cooling the car down so that all the frozen food that we buy from "their" store, will not melt Cheers, Hank
How about a group of 20 of us show up, put our car covers on our cars in the parking lot, then go buy some coffee? How great of a statement would that be?
We have found a new site on Ventura Blvd in Tarzana that wants our group. It was found by Kareem and others and is anchored by a Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf in the parking lot of a large shopping center with apparently no conflicts. 19732 Ventura Blvd between Corbin and Winnetka. A group of us are going to recheck it out Tomorrow morning, come out and join us. Please keep a low profile NO HOT ROD BURNOUTS OR SPEED RUNS !!!!
No one to complain there. All the big stores are empty. The butcher there used to be the only place around that sold Peter Luger's steak sauce.
ok seriously, where is everyone going to be in the morning? i have not seen a lot of you guys in a while.
