I am interested in opinions on this topic:

Here is a 250GTO replica made from a 330 GT 2+2 that is for sale now. Maybe some of you have been involved in this - I would like to hear all opinions.

Perfectly ok if you're the sort of person who thinks Mona Lisa would look better sporting a toothy grin and a tube top, and plan to "rebody" her if you ever can.

The car in your link was discussed here:

Hmm, am I the only one who finds this thought mildly arousing? :)

bad idea. Making a 330 GT 2+2 into a 250 GTO is terrible. They are just ruining a great car by impersonating a 250 GTO

Whether you agree or not about the replica, this wasn't done recently.

As the owner of the 2 most(apparently)unloved/unwanted front engined Ferraris',the idea of chopping up a perfectly good car to make a 'rep' is wrong.
    There are however,sometimes, mitigating circumstances.
They are,of course, when it is finacially unwise to restore back to original, relative to the original purchase price.
As with this car there is another case in point on the Aussie section on a thread pertaining to an Italian/Lambo day out,I,ll come back and post the thread in a minute.
The car in question was made from a 400 series and is,if you look very closely in the vein of the original idea of the 'speciale'types of car that were generally made as one off,s.

The thread is the one starting with:LAMBORGHINI CLUB OF AUSTRALIA etc, etc.
Someone better than me,I,m sure, can hijack it and put it on here to have a look.

Even if you managed to fabricate a "replica" that is 100% spot on on the outside. Would it even perform HALF as good on track since it was built on a different chassis???

That's one of the worst Ferrari based replicas I've ever seen. Looks more like one of those Datsun based replicas.
