Hello, wondering if I could get any input from the Ferrari community on this as looking to purchase first 1.

2014 458 Base Nero Daytona/black interior with 3,680 miles and MSRP is $260,538

The are telling me $242,900 and not a penny less. A little concerned this car might take a big hit with the 488 coming out soon and I may be overpaying.

Also moving on from my 2014 porsche turbo S which I absolutely love and have no reason to trade in other then the fact I want a ferrari.

Thoughts on price and the 458 vs the 991 turbo S if anybody has had both??

    Thanks

That is a very high price. The dealer offered me two months ago for my 2013 with 3500 miles $215k

What options ? If you have the cf race buckets, cf interior race package, alloy wheels, deviated stitching...243 may be the right price. I paid 265 for my '14 well optioned as I describe. My car had 960 miles. If you like the car and spec, do it.

thanks for the replies; based on what i see online i guess the price isn't crazy...I don't think it has a ton of options (new to ferrari so not sure of all the options) yellow stitching, carbon fiber steering wheel, rear parking sensors, iPod, yellow calipers...

    this is it

Used 2014 FERRARI 458 ITALIA For Sale | Fort Lauderdale FL | VIN: ZFF67NFA5E0198022

i do love the car but if I could build 1 It would definitely have power seats and a rear cam. nowhere near the options my turbos has, and no bluetooth audio really sucks

Seems really high for coupe. I got my 13 Spider 3K miles, well optioned for $275K. But I won it at an auction so it was at wholesale price. Before you buy, PM about Allen Faulkner who helped me get this deal. He charges a flat fee but so worth it.

There is such a wide range of options it's very hard to price shop these cars, later models.

As others are posting the real question is how YOU like it!!

With the new car being turbo, the final 458s may well hold value better than the normal Ferrari model change. Time will tell..

Ordering a new 488 puts you two years away from driving it.
That is why used Ferraris are so expensive.
You drive away in it, today!

    Be careful, drive safe!

Imho, it's pretty high for a very low options car. I think you'd be better of getting a 12 or 13 with more desirable options (and almost the same miles if not less) and purchase an extended warranty. In a few years, you'd have a more desirable car for resale. The next buyer will always looks and options, mileage, and color combos.

I'm thinking close to $300k.....I know all of my options from registering my car by vin on myferrari(Ferrari.com). I don't have the price list for each of the options to add it up nor the original sticker. I think dealers like to keep it a mystery unless you really push.

You can ask Ferrari dealer and give them the VIN. They should know the options on the car and price them accordingly. Mine was $340K MSRP but got it for $275K (dealer auction).

+ 458. Sounds high but you are on the right track with the Nero color. I purchased a 2012 over a 2013 because it was a higher optioned rig and ticked all the boxes I wanted and then some. Good luck bro.

My 2014 with an MSRP was given a trade value of $180 about two months ago. And YES, the 458 values will continue to drop precipitously for a while post-488.

Seems high. I'd just buy a slightly older car and save tons of money.

what was your msrp? man, looking all over the internet it doesn't look like 240 is that bad, I guess Ill just wait til november or december and snag a well optioned 13 or 14 for like 200 with all the 488 hype.

I'm not familiar with this dealership. If it's not an authorize Ferrari dealer, you can't buy the extended warranty. As for the car, for me, it's missing electric seats, front/rear sensors, and forged wheels. Price is not bad for 2011 but why don't you look at 2012 for 220-225K. You'll save about 1500 per year on maintenance and you'll get about 10K more when you trade it back in when compared to 2011. Therefore, the delta between the 2 should be very little.

I doubt the 488 will drop current 458 prices as much as people think. I would assume 458 prices will be 10-15k lower by summer to fall 2016. Most of the 458s are around 280-300k new. For 2013-2014 to drop to 200k it would be 80-100k depreciation in 2-3 years. Unlikely to happen.

I think it all depends on the reviews of people who own the 488 as well that will decide that drop. If the 488 turns out to be a great seller, then you may find them drop more. I do agree the drop in 458 prices will not be as significant as people think.

The price is definitely high and it was a July 2013 build, not sure why it's a 2014 model.

Would never pay over 230 for such a car at this time of year and so close the 488 rollout. It will be 215-220 by summer without question. I had both (2015 TTS and 2014 458) and just sold my 458 for 265 in July but it was red/black and more heavily optioned with lots of summer driving still available. The Ferrari is certainly more visceral but the TTS is more comfortable and usable as a DD. Of course, I just got a tesla 90D for my wife and after driving it a few times this week, I think electric is the wave of the future. Its faster than both, more comfortable, and overall a really cool layout and experience. My bet is the 488 successor will feature some of this type of tech (like the LAFerrari) and I think turbos will die off....I digress, sorry

Thanks for the feedback! Clear consensus is this is too much.. Gona pass on this one and put a few more miles on my 991TTS and revisit the 458 market in Dec/Jan.. Thanks!

Earlier MY cars are way cheaper, so I don't see the appeal of buying a 2014 for a premium unless it's the only one in your spec. The difference is mainly how long it sat in the garage, considering most cars have barely any miles on them anyway.

The difference between a 2012 and a 2014, for me at least, would be like a few months of actual usage.
