To me, it seems like the proportions are off. It just doesn't look "right"

I agree with the proportions being "off" on the car. It just doesnt look right. And whatever that plate is hanging on the back. Most people dont just hang some plate on the back like that on their $25million super rare ferrari.

I don't think that too many people would haul their 250 GTO around on an open trailer either.

Not necessarily. There are some people who leave real ones on open trailers in open fields for years.

I think Wayne has a photo somewhere...

totally fake. Car is all wrong. Roofline, rear, everything. Be sure NOT to show this to Marcel Massini and assume it is real.

I belive that same picture has been the subject of a thread here before asking the same question. I recall another picture of it on a trailer being followed by a 360 through a NJ toll booth. I don't remember the verdict.

Let me count the ways :)

Though all GTOs have their individual nuances, there are too many wrong lines and contours for this to be anything other than someone's retro project.

    Jim,
I would have no pulling any of 'our favorites' on an open trailer. My problem with this trailer is the location of its axles relative to the load. Just asking for trouble- it hurts to even look at.

As for this photo you refer to that El Wayne has, the significance is not what's on the trailer, but rather what kind of outlandish footwear one of the visitors is sporting.
    hahaha

    Best,
    Dave

Those are original Chuck Taylor's. Not the modern ones made in the Philippines.
