I have half a day to kill and will not have a car. Is there anything to do, or is there a train that I can take to downtown? Citysearch is not helpful at all. Thanks in advance.

Bus or taxi to King of Prussia Mall?

It's the 2nd largest mall in the country about 15 minutes drive up rt. 202 from malvern.

    What day, what time?

MAlvern is about 20 minutes by car from the King of Prussia Mall.

Maybe 15 minutes from the Exton Mall.

About 5 minutes from Cheeburger Cheeburger, home of the best, um, cheeseburger I've had in some time.

Malvern itself has a small (one block) downtown area with a couple of antique stores, that's about it.

No bus that I know of from Malvern to King of Prussia. Train station is a couple miles away, but you can take the local to Philly from there (30-40 minutes)

Could also go to Paoli from Malvern (more or less walking distance) and hang out at the Hardware Store or the Boston Market. Some fun, huh??

Or, you could beg the locals to show up and buy you a couple of beers at the local tavern, which is on King Street in Malvern, and has some pretty decent food.

I am staying at the Desmond. I have from 2pm until ??? to kill. I am sure that the group I am seeing is having a happy hour and what not, but I thought it might be closer to something other than a mall. I saw on the hotel website that I could go and watch a QVC broadcast, or go to Valley Forge. Tough choices.

    Thanks

You can also take the R5 SEPTA train into Philadelphia itself. It's not a bad trip, maybe 20 minutes or so, and the city has a few things to do.

Nah, the bits of Philly you'd be delivered to by the R5 aren't scary. ... unless you consider the overinflated egos of Rittenhouse Square dwellers scary.
