    Hey gang.

Simple question... I was wondering if there was a turbo kit available for the Cayenne S. (Preferably bolt on) Why not just upgrade to a Cayenne Turbo you might ask? Well quite frankly, the idea of selling a $70K suv for mid 20s makes my stomach sick. I only have 40,000 miles on this car and love it. I just would like a little more power.
Also, I wonder how much it would cost to convert a CS to a CTS using oem components.

    Anone have any insight?

Just upgrade to a Cayenne Turbo... Even though your resale price is bad, so is the resale value of Cayenne Turbo's that also have 40,000 miles on them.

As stated above, the resale value on Turbos are bad as well, maybe even find a dealer who will work you out a good deal trading it in. Whether your car is worth $20k or $50k, that's not going to change the gap....

Using factory components, it would cost a fortune. All the engine internals are different, if I'm not mistaken. Just adding the turbos to a stock high-compression Cayenne S motor, you would be limited to probably 4 lbs of boost (if that) without risking major engine damage.

    ouch....wouldn't do that.
i had a cayenne s as well and upgraded to a turbo 6 months later as i felt the car lacked power.

trade-in would be the best route.

if you tune your car resale will go towards 0.

I believe Gemballa has a turbo kit for the NA Cayennes, but it might be for the V6.

yes I saw the v6 turbo kit. It makes me sad that gamballa can give a v6 400 hp but the v8 only 385.

I just purchased my second Cayenne Turbo last week. My wife "adopted" my '04 as her winter driver and so i bit the bullet and bought a new '08. This is the ideal winter driver, especially in cold climates. Snow tires are a must, however. I agree, the normally aspirated vehicle is way under powered. The Turbo comes with many standard features. Should you add these extras on to the purchase of the standard Cayenne, the actual cost of the engine upgrade is not really that much. There are still some new '08 Turbos available for $20K under sticker. The '09 GTS version is almost as fast as the TT, and would save you a few bucks. By the way, every vehicle has a "best color". For the Cayenne, that color is black or white.

A cayenne seems like a reasonably nice SUV, after all, its Porsche quality and comfortable for driving around with the dogs and groceries. But a Turbo, or "upgrading" an S to a turbo just doesn't seem to make any sense to me. After all, the Cayenne is a box with a big enough engine to putter along on the freeway. A Turbo Cayenne is a box with more power than is really safe or at all useful on a big box. A turbo Cayenne, IMHO, makes about as much sense as a Turbo Honda CRV, which again, is an SUV box for driving around with the dogs and groceries. Like so many, many sports car mags that review and test the Cayenne, nobody quite gets the 'turbo' thing.

I had a gemballa 650 and it was insanely fast. waay too much power for the car. In a straight line it would keep up with my 575 until about 110 when it became a flying brick. the upgrade was not cheap, about 30k iirc. went through 4 sets of u-joints along the way. just upgrade to a stock turbo or turbo S. GTS is nice but still lacks power. the turbo is the best truck of the lot.
